"We initially had some confusion regarding the location of the property - the postcode shown on the hotels.com listing suggests that it is in the middle of Saltburn but it is actually 15 minutes away - the correct postcode is TS13 4TB, and the property is at the very bottom of the single-track lane. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and the living area in particular was very comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the location was lovely and peaceful. "Does the job if you just need a place to sleep in the area but it needs some TLC and the garden is over grown, not sure if the heating is working. I'd hace still rated it as average as lomg as your not taking the family on holiday but communication feom the host was dreadful. I shluld have tp asl a half dozen times for access info, its not necessary and it adds to the stress. No one wants to make a three hour drive without knowing they will be able to get in when they get there "

"Lovely country hotel with large garden and free parking. Our room had a comfortable bed,fridge, fan and tv . The bathroom was clean with extra large towels. We ate at restaurant for 3 evenings. Menu had a good choice of meals and food was lovely. Restaurant was very busy so pre booking advised. We had a great breakfast each day with hot and cold selections. Bus stops outside to Whitby and Saltburn which was a bonus. Lovely hotel with wonderful staff and we would definately stay again"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our son and 2 dogs . The cottage had everything you needed and the kitchen was a good size. The beds were clean and comfortable and the en-suite a bonus . Great position only a few minutes from the sea and the Cod and Lobster , although we cooked we had fish and chips and they were excellent . Our host Ann kept us well informed about arriving and the entry code . We chose to park at Glen Vale a private car park that was a godsend and thoroughly recommend them ."
