Exterior has large redwood deck with shaded table and chairs, gas barbecue, and storage area for bikes and beach gear. Deck has unrestricted views of the boardwalk, beach, and surf - perfect for families that want a bit of separation from the boardwalk .

Open interior living space has great views from the living room, dining room and kitchen. Dining room table seats 4, and bar seats 3. Full kitchen service for up to 8. Full bath and half bath. Master bedroom has queen Bed and stacked washer/dryer. Two additional bedrooms each with twin beds.

Located just a short walk from all the amenities of North Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, including hotels, restaurants, fast food, supermarket, beach bars, souvenir and boutique shopping, and pier fishing.

This North Mission Beach court is the place to be, where you can walk to everything. While the house has no on-site parking, street parking can usually be found nearby on Strand Way or Mission Blvd.

Wonderful Stay

I spent 6 wonderful weeks at this great little beach house. Some friends and family came to visit while I was there. The house is very comfortable and the location is perfect. The sunsets were gorgeous. Highly recommend!

Located steps from the beach, the house was perfect for my family. The house was clean and the porch had a perfect view. This is our 3rd time staying here and would stay here again.

Great location near the beach

This property is in a great location between Pacific beach and the main part of mission beach with a great view of the ocean. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need and the space was very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location!

Can't beat the location! Owner very helpful with everything. Parking is a bit of a pain but worth dealing with for the location. House is old but fine for the price. It does need some work and updating though.

Best stay ever?

This property is so great in every way. It’s not the fanciest house on the block, but that wasn’t a priority for us. The beds and couches were comfy, the location was pretty much perfect - walking distance to so many things but not so close to them that it was loud or busy. It was only 20 steps to the boardwalk, which we walked on daily. It had all the amenities we needed. I would highly recommend this property and would certainly plan on staying here again.

Great location!

I took my elderly parents to San Diego for a getaway. We felt like we were walking into my grandparent’s house. We reminisced about the activities we did at grandmas. We enjoyed listening to the waves and watching the sunset. We played cards on the rainy day while watching a surf. We would stay here again.

This is a truly wonderful place to stay: on a scale of 1-10, it's over the top!

The whole process was easy. This house is located one house away from the beach! We were thrilled by sunsets, high waves, and a steady parade of people, dogs, bikes passing by. The house is super comfortable. We made some meals, ordered in, etc. The bedrooms were super comfortable. Mike was very responsive to our questions. There were 5 of us including a three year old, and we all want to come back to Mike's VRBO!

Great location!!

This was the perfect location for our family. The teens could come & go as they please since we were just one house off the boardwalk. House was fantastic too. Nothing fancy but just what we needed. Plenty of room for our family to hang out in the evening & watch movies. We had a couple minor issues but Mike was extremely helpful & quick to communicate. We will most definitely be booking again.

Wonderful location

This is our 4th time at this location and have already reserved for next year. The location is perfect for our family. Mike is great to work with and responsive to our needs. The closeness of the beach is fabulous. The only drawback is parking but that's a given with this popular location. The cottage has everything you need, Ralph's is convenient, if needed and restaurants and shopping is close. Mike provides the toys you need. Buggie boards, sand toys, chairs, umbrellas, a bike. I highly recommend this location.

Great location!

We loved the location, it was just perfect for our family. Unfortunately I have to not give a full 5 stars due to cleanliness. Carpets felt dirty, not the best for a infant to be in. The fridge was rusted, some kitchen items where not cleaned despite being in the clean rack. The place overall needs some updates. But, regarless of that, i would book again. Great price, and location.

Great beach house

We loved the view of the beach and being so close to many restaurants and stores. I watched dolphins every morning. I was happy to see the house had new couches and new countertop and cabinets. It looked really nice. The walls are all solid wood paneling which I really like and gives a rustic feel. Hope to stay here again. We usually travel just us two when visiting my daughter who lives nearby but we needed extra space for my son to come also so this place was perfect and my daughter came over a few times with her boyfriend so it was nice to have this space and location. I think this is a good house even for just a couple compared to other options.

Charming old school cottage with updated appliances 1 house from the strand.

A charming cottage with solid wood paneling and updated appliances one house from the strand. This is the ideal location because we didn’t hear all the noise from the people going back-and-forth on the strand yet we could see the sand in the ocean easily. With a washer and dryer that are full sized as well as, full-size stove and refrigerator, we were well supplied with a modern conveniences. We found basically unlimited parking on a side street five blocks away. There was an easy walk, but we ordered almost everywhere. The kitchen was well supplied and we had no issues of any sort.

Family Beach Vacation

My husband, kids and I had a great week at Mike’s Mission Beach House. The location is amazing- literally steps away from the beach with beautiful views of the ocean from the front window. The beds and furniture were comfortable for our party of 5. The only areas for improvement include lack of parking and overall cleanliness as we found the house to be clean in terms of “high touch” areas like the kitchen and bathrooms but there was a lot of dust gathering on the wood paneling in the master, on side tables and the ceiling fans. The bathroom is also a tight space if you have little ones that need to be bathed. There is no designated parking space so some nights it took a few moments of driving around to find an open spot. Overall, this is a great beach house in a superb location! We really enjoyed our visit and hope to visit San Diego again soon!

Location location location

You are rt on the beach! Yes you are 1 house off but while you sit on the porch you have a wide view of the water even still. The beach itself is perfect for all ages and swimming levels. I walked along each morning and saw dolphins everyday! U do not have to walk far to get down to the water (great for the elderly), the ocean is level and sandy, perfect for boogie boarding and surfing but safe for little ones. The water is cold so we feel most comfortable w our wetsuits, but thats definitely optional. Its a close bike to the pier, close to shops and food, grocery store. I felt very safe, locked my bikes beside the house and never worried about theft or homeless people. As for the inside: the beds were honestly the most comfortable of any rental ive ever been in. Things were easy to find and use. The owner/ manager was extremely fast to get rt back to you. Downsides: the place isnt the cleanest, just bc its old, so if you are used to a 5* hotel you might notice things more than i did and rate it at about a 3*. But it didnt matter to us bc oh how we loved this place. The parking is a little tough but not too bad. We found good places and were able to leave our car for 3 days at a time closeby. we needed a few more trash bags, dishwasher pods, and the flies can still somehow make it inside w the screen always closed. Overall i would say 4 out of 5 stars for the price and amazing location. My kids were thrilled... so much to do. I would definitely do this again and again.
