Overall great trip. The property is as advertised but the photos of the roof top deck do not do it justice. Simply spectacular 360 degree views. It was my favorite part of the property.
My two daughters in their 30s were able to reunite and visit after many years, meeting in the middle, one from AZ, one from NorCal. They went to college in San Diego, so perfect place, as was the Rooftop Dreamhouse. Hosts were very accommodating and communicative. Watching Seaworld fireworks from rooftop was a must every night, sitting by the firepit. Other family members in closeby accommadations would visit for meals and fireworks, too!
This lovely beach home has everything you need for a fun stay in San Diego. It has a unique Spanish charm with beach decorations. The highlight for my husband and I was the sauna in the master bath. Our girls could not get enough of the rooftop area with a beautiful view of San Diego. It was pouring rain the first night so I was worried we would not enjoy the rooftop, but it was a lovely clear Christmas Day and we were able to go up there. We didn’t use the fire pit, but it’s there if you’d like to use it. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals. Our hostess Lori and her property manager were very kind and welcoming. The neighborhood is safe and there is a grocery store within walking distance. I looked at countless properties before deciding on this one and I am grateful we stayed here for a special visit to one of our favorite cities.
Everything was first rate. Communication, location, amenities. We had a wonderful time and I plan to book this location again in the future. Thank-you!
We loved the location of this property and the house was perfect for our family. You can’t beat the views from the roof! Everything in the house was labeled well and easy to find. The hosts were great communicators! We’d definitely stay here again!
We needed a place in this area with parking as we were hosting wedding celebration activities at both the beach and the bay. That it was a nice place with a 360 view on the rooftop deck was a great bonus!
I was able to squeeze my full size minivan inside the garage or safely in the driveway (both at angles). The driveway is steep but manageable.
Very convenient having the San Rafael stop sign and crosswalk close for back and forth to the beach. Traffic noise from Mission Blvd was the only drawback.
Bay view from kitchen, dining room, and deck absolutely fantastic! Both residences between the home and the bay are single story, giving clear sight lines.
All amenities as advertised. Sauna worked great, as did the gas fire pit on the roof. There are more stairs than expected that can be difficult for the mobility challenged.
Felt very welcomed and taken care of. Julie was a great on-site host. I was curious about a last minute early check-in and she made it happen within 30 minutes of my request!
Thank you for providing me a fun and convenient way to be close to all the wedding festivities!
Nice central location, about half way between the Pier and Belmont Park, close to Bay, and very quick walk to beach. Easy to walk to many places for food. Great view of Bay from rooftop deck with a "peek" of the beach. The garage was great, and there is even a driveway (although very sloped) for another car (regular car or mid size SUV - a long truck would not fit). We have a Toyota Rav 4, and it was no problem fitting in the garage. We had friends with a similar size SUV that stopped by, and it fit in the driveway. Be advised, there are MANY steps in this house, and they are fairly steep. Steps up to the house, to the master bedroom, to the living area, to the kitchen, to the rooftop deck. Pretty much everywhere you go. Not a problem for us, just wanted to make others aware that if you have trouble with steps, or have small kids, it could be a problem for you. There is a large dumb waiter in the garage that goes up to just inside the front door. This was a nice surprise and was awesome for getting luggage from the car to the house. The house is older, as most are in the area, but is decorated nicely. Master bed/bath have plenty of storage, with many drawers in both. There were even hooks in the bathroom and in the closet to hang clothes and towels, and some hangers in the closet too. These details may not be a huge thing to most people, but I find this to be a huge plus. I hate staying somewhere where I cannot unpack all my things. The master shower was great (although a bit dark with only one light in the bathroom near the sink), and my husband loved the sauna. Like every place in the Mission Beach area, there is much street noise with the windows open. This is not a negative about the house, as it is like this pretty much everywhere, just pointing out that if you open the windows at night, you will hear the traffic, sirens, etc. And even though it was only around 70 degrees during the day, the bedrooms did get stuffy at night. There are fans available though, which help. The master bed was not the most comfortable, but daughter said the guest bed was comfy. The kitchen came with a hodge podge of items for cooking simple meals. Garbage bags, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and dryer sheets available. The refrigerator ice and water dispenser do not work, so you will have to buy ice (but there were a few ice trays). There is a filtered water dispenser at the kitchen sink, and a Brita pitcher in the refrigerator.
It had a cool layout, everything worked and the views were awesome from the roof deck, I actually live in San Diego but spending 3 nights at a nice house right on the beach was a blast. The garage was a plus but the door could use maintenance. Other than that everyone really enjoyed the house and plenty of supplies, with cool surrounding areas. Boating, Nightlife, Views and Tanning. Double Thumbs up👍👍 Recommend!
We are a local family with two older teens, 17 and 19, in search of a place for a staycation while still having to still work and go to school remotely. This place did not disappoint! Since we are familiar with Mission Beach, we knew what area we wanted to stay. The location is close to all: Mission Bay, the beach, and places to eat and/or window shop along Mission Boulevard. It's also a nice walk along the boardwalk on your way to Belmont Park to the south or Crystal Pier to the north. Lori, the host, was welcoming and prompt with her communication, check-in was a breeze, and the place was clean, sunny, and well-organized. The Wi-Fi worked well for the three of us that weren't lucky enough to take the entire three days off. There is also plenty of parking for two cars comfortably and three if you have smaller cars, just having one spot is premium in Mission Beach. Lastly, if your searching for an active vacation, you have opportunities to rent bikes, surfboards, and paddleboards without having to get into your car or bring the gear yourself. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
Stayed here for Spring Break to scope out colleges in the area. Very easy check-in, beautiful property and the rooftop is amazing. Many great options for coffee, smoothies and food within 15 minute walk. Bay and beach just steps away.
My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay. The rooftop was a nice place to relax and enjoy the sunset. Only complaint in the bed wasn’t super comfy. Other than that was a great stay!!
Loved the place, great amenities, awesome rooftop deck, close to bay and beach. Lots of space. Only issues were some broken glass on upper deck that got missed cleaning and dining room fan had a short. Easy fixes else would get a 5 star rating. Would stay again
What a great trip we had at this location! Loved being minutes from either the Bay or Ocean, walking distance. Accessibility was phenomenal and the property itself was organized, clean and the hosts could not have been better communicating with us. I cannot wait to return :)
We enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and quiet neighborhood during our Thanksgiving getaway. The beds were comfy and clean. This place is steps to the beach and bay. We loved the rooftop patio with it's amazing views and firepit.
We really enjoyed our holiday in Mission Beach. The area was great and the property managers were very nice to work with. The rooftop patio was great for views of both the bay and the ocean-lovely sunsets! We did have a few unexpected issues with some ceiling leaks due to an unusual amount of rain; however, the property managers were quick to respond and the property owners were incredibly nice to give us a night's refund for our troubles. We love San Diego and would definitely stay here again. We were able to go to the museums, zoo, Torrey Pines, and visited family in the wine country that was only an hour away. We got to walk around the bay and oceanfront boardwalk each morning and even the storms that came weren't bad because we got to play games and hang out in the house. We also found the Amplified Ale Works which we highly enjoyed. One family member has Celiac disease and they were able to provide delicious gluten free food for her. We went twice in the week! Balboa Park was fun to visit and the restaurant Prado was really good! It's one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego!
The place was in a perfect location! Walking distance to restaurants, bars and groceries. Enjoyed both bay and ocean views from inside the place and rooftop deck. The house was well equipped with everything. I would certainly recommend staying here.
Property exactly as pictured. Roomy, airy, wide open spaces. The roof top patio and gas fire pit under the stars fantastic for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Only concern was the front door lock but we were told that was to be corrected.. Word to the wise though......don't drive a big car......parking very tight. Would not hesitate to book here again......management immediately responsive.

Great House, access to everything at Mission Beach, will rent again
Our fist time to Mission Beach, this house is very nice. It is old, but well maintained. Full kitchen. A master and a Bedroom. There is a pull out couch as well as a bed mat in the master closet. 2 full baths and a powder room on main floor. 4 was very comfortable. 1 block to the bay, 2 blocks to the pacific, what more could you ask. Roof top deck is really cool as well. Parking is crazy in Mission Beach, so having the garage is a bonus. Note if you rent a Tahoe or a large pickup, may not fit in the garage or in the exposed driveway. We rented a small SUV, was perfect.
The beach was not busy, but it was January. The closer to the pier you get the busyier it gets. The ocean view was perfect, decent waves for body boarding/surfing.
We went in January, the only issue we had was the guest bedroom doesn't get much heat from the furnace, but an extra blanket on the bed was all that was needed.
We will be back, renting this same place.

Excellent. Wonderful property and location.
I enjoyed a wonderful weekend in San Diego. The accommodations were perfect as was the weather. The location of the house is such that you do not need a car. I can absolutely recommend this property to anyone.
