Serene Garden Retreat in a Charming Rancho Santa Fe Guest House

The Garden House is a charming two-story guesthouse with two spacious double bedrooms, set in serene gardens for complete privacy and tranquility. Accessible via a quaint bridge, it enjoys a separate entrance from the main house. Ideally located, it’s just a 5-minute drive to the luxurious Rancho Valencia resort and The Farms Golf Club. The beaches of Del Mar and Solana Beach are 15 minutes away, with Torrey Pines Beach reachable in 20 minutes.

First Floor: The open-plan lounge features two large sofas, coffee tables, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning garden views. A galley kitchen is fully equipped with a two-ring stovetop, large fridge/freezer, smart oven, microwave, dishwasher, and sink. French doors open onto a private shaded roof terrace with outdoor dining and seating, overlooking the lush gardens.

Ground Floor: The main bedroom boasts a king-size bed, a walk-in closet, and ensuite with a walk-in shower, vanity, and toilet. The second bedroom includes a queen-size bed, ensuite with a walk-in shower, vanity, and toilet, plus a built-in wardrobe with extra drawers. A laundry room with a washer and dryer completes the space. Both bedrooms have french doors opening onto a covered patio with additional seating, sun lounger and private garden area.

It is 100% as described by the host, serene and charming. The guest house is only a few yards from the main house, but is completely private. Guests do not feel they are intruding on the hosts and hosts are always available for assistance. A very warm and welcoming family. The neighbourhood is safe, quiet, but close enough to shopping facilities and to beaches. We could not have been more comfortable and defy anybody to find fault with this guest house.

Inga and her family are most gracious. We attend the DelMar horse races; and are close but have the luxury of also enjoying the Valencia Spa (rated the best in California) and top rated restaurants.

Beautiful home, wonderful host

We had family coming in from out of town for a graduation and needed some place close. The guest house was perfect. Well-Appointed and a beautiful property. The host was incredibly gracious and super helpful with every step of the process.

Serenity in the Garden Retreat

Wonderful casita and amazing host! Easy access to everything that you will want to do. We already know the area, but restaurants close by, beach a short drive, what I call easy freeway access. Inga has provided everything that you will need here from very comfy beds, washer-dryer, coffee pot and milk frother, peace and quiet, etc. Love that she even offers her delicious sourdough bread and meals as an option! Incredible. We stayed 2 weeks and will most definitely come again.

Best Place By Any Measure

This is the best experience I’ve had staying in a place from VRBO. Inga has a background in hospitality & it showed! The title of Inga’s listing is spot on (and arguably a huge UNDER-statement). On arrival we all just relaxed immediately. The place and surroundings definely felt like a “Serene Garden Retreat.” The Guest House itself was more than charming. Indeed, the photographs do not do it justice. Most notably is how much natural light flows in through the huge windows surrounding each room. During the day we never needed to use a single light switch. Clearly the place was solidly insulated, so we stayed comfortable even on the chilliest of January mornings. Inga thought of everything, and then added more — luxurious amenities in the bathroom, a kitchen full of all the essential tools and spices you’d have at home (we comfortably cooked an entire dinner for four), full-on coffee/tea service, a cabinet full of games, comfy throw pillows blankets in the living room, and huge beds in bedrooms decorated in a way that made them feel both spacious and cozy at the same time. If I had any questions, Inga was immediately available. Her whole family was delightful and helpful. Frankly, if I wasn’t already catching up with old friends, I would have invited them to dinner one night. I would keep gushing, but I need to get to work. Bottom line, count yourself lucky if you are able to score a spot in this Delightful rental.

Garden House

One word description for the Garden House : Spectacular .It’s a lovely guest house located on the property of the hosts main residence . It’s super clean , very comfortable and restfully quiet and yet it’s close to all the main attractions of San Diego . The beaches , hiking trails , restaurants , Del Mar race track and many other destinations are either minutes away or within a reasonable drive .

Amazing place

This place is great, the host is lovey warm and available without being intrusive. It was so quiet and peaceful which is just the retreat we needed. The kitchen was everything we need to make food. The bedrooms were very quiet for sleeping. This is one of the best vacation rentals I have ever stayed in.

Beautiful, clean and easy

Inga was a perfect host. We stayed for 3 nights for a family wedding in RSF. The Casita has everything needed for a stay, even for cooking meals. Homemade marmalade was so delicious. The garden is beautiful and peaceful which made sitting out on the verandah even more relaxing. Everything was well appointed and comfortable. We would highly recommend this property. Thank you

Serene retreat

Although close to Del Mar beach and racetrack; the amenities of San Diego - this beautiful abode is in an idyllic setting of mature trees and vistas. The house is well equipped for entertaining.The bathrooms are beautiful, the beds assure one of a great night’s rest. There is truly nothing lacking to guarantee an enjoyable, memorable stay. This is worthy of six stars!

Beautifully Serene with incredible location & hosts

10-day stay for soccer playoffs at nearby Surf Sports Park that was our fave VRBO ever! From the excellent communication to the comfort of the beds, the thoughtful kitchen and the spacious rooms! We had everything we could ever need and want for our family. Some days were so nice to just lounge on the porch with a good book selected from many options on the shelves. Arlo, the sweet dog, greeted us coming and going and warmed up to us after the first 2 days. Don’t judge by his handsome and intimidating looks - he is playful and loves his lower back rubbed. There were some awesome cookbooks, Trader Joe’s 5 min away, and everything you’d need to prep and cook a family meal. The location is unbeatable as many eats, sights, shops are all within an easy 5-15 minutes drive. We will be back! If looking for a home away from home - this has it all and some!

BEAUTIFUL!!

The property was sooo beautiful!! Lush landscaping, quiet and serene. The inside was very impressive with high end decorative touches throughout. The host was so warm and welcoming. Excellent communication. We definitely plan to be returning soon!!

Peaceful location, great accommodations

We enjoyed our stay in the Garden House, a spacious two bedroom guest house with a lovely terrace overlooking the manicured gardens of this Rancho Santa Fe property. Large bedrooms, both en suite, with very comfortable beds and high quality bedding. The hosts have thoughtfully provided all the necessities for your stay: a well-provisioned galley kitchen, bathroom necessities, and even beach towels. Overall, an excellent alternative to the more crowded areas of San Diego and north county.

Can we live here please?

Beautiful home, well maintained, clean, has everything you need, and feels like a friend is welcoming you to their place. We especially loved how the house smelled, fresh and calming. We stayed with our 18month old, who loved climbing up/down the stairs and running along the pathway to the front of the house. Inga was a beyond welcoming and thoughtful host (+ and amazing cook too)! We really wanted to live in the guest house for longer. Thank you Inga for letting us stay in your home. We hope to back again some day.

Friendly host; nice location

We stayed for 11 days waiting for our new house to be completed. The Garden House was very nice and worked well for our stay. We learned that although Arlo (the dog) seems ferocious, he is all bark and no bite and in fact is quite friendly. This is a nice place to stay.
