The room was clean and cozy, and the hotel conveniently located. I primarily used buses to get around while staying there. The location may feel sketchy to some but I felt safe–it's downtown of a major city. It's sort of a hostel setup–private rooms but you share bathrooms, considering these factors it felt a bit pricey. But I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

Tired Property, Terrible Location
The staff was very polite and the internet worked pretty well on the whole. Save those two things, this place has no real redeeming qualities.
This is mentioned, but there is no elevator. The stairs are old, steep, and poorly carpeted.
The rooms are very dated. The windows don't work well. There is no heat or AC. My room was over 80F despite cooler temperatures outside.
The dorm-style shared bathrooms on the first floor were very, very dirty. The more private shared bathrooms on the second floor were better.
The kitchen are isn't a bad spot to work for a bit, but it is windowless and very warm.
As others have said, the homeless problem out front is quite bad. There were at least 40 homeless people directly in front of the property at night and very early in the morning.
I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.
I booked a last minute ticket to a conference in SF and had to find a place to stay quick and inexpensively. Ram's Hotel was the first option available and very reasonable rates!
The host is so nice and helpful. I walked out without my keycard twice and she gave me a new one without any questions. I felt terrible but she was so nice about it! Every interaction I had with the host was great.
The room was exactly what I needed. Small, cozy, and right in the heart of SF. I didn't have to wait for the community bathroom. There were two on my floor and one of them was always available. I was able to wash and dry my laundry using an app to pay for the load.
There are people that hangout on the sidewalks outside which made me nervous at first, but the hotel felt very secure. I appreciate that there is a lock on the entry door as well as on the room door.
If I get a chance to stay in SF again, I will definitely be booking at Ram's Hotel.
