I’ve staid in the Casa Loma a few times over the years while visiting family in SF. The rooms are small but definitely not claustrophobic, most importantly they’re clean and well stocked with towels, soap, etc. The surrounding neighborhood is beyond charming. Plenty of markets, take out, and laundromats on the same street to keep you supplied and comfortable if you’re staying for a long weekend or a few days. Just a wonderful experience every time I’ve visited.

Really old and not great looking hotel inside, really needs updating and room wasn’t great. Hairs in the shower and wasn’t comfortable with the cleanliness. Over priced

Hotel Staff was insanely friendly and allowed us to check in to our room early. Rooms are a little small but overall the quality of the stay was truly charming. Walls are a little thin but the staff and hotels charm more than made up for it!

THE WORST PLACE TO STAY IN SAN FRANCISCO! Dirty, unfriendly staff, very old, dirty linen, too hot and very limited area or space, no parking space, unsafe and terrible atmosphere!!!!!! Horrible service and unsafe environment!!!!

Stayed here for a couple days while in San Fran. Overall, my experience was okay. The hotel is older and not updated. I was not aware that there wasn’t an elevator so carrying my suitcase 3 flights of stairs was unexpected. No AC in the rooms and even if you open the windows it doesn’t help. The walls are very thin and conversation from other rooms can be heard. Lots of noise at night making it hard to sleep. Other than that, for the price it was a decent stay.

Great little hotel for a quick stay. The room was small but clean and even had a microwave and minifridge. It is an older building, but that doesn't bother us at all. The lady who checked us in was amazing and exceedingly helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Staff was able to store my luggage for me for the day, which was extremely appreciated, and the bathrooms were newly renovated. Other than that, the dirtiest hotel I've seen in a while, I slept above the stained pillows and sheets with my own blankets. Windows were broken and no ac, it was about 1000 degrees in April, refrigerator didn't work

Great Value Despite Construction Noise

Overall, the stay was solid and came with unbeatable prices—definitely one of the best deals in town. The only drawback was the loud construction happening inside the hotel, which made it tough to relax at times. That said, if you’re okay with a little noise and want to stretch your dollar, this spot delivers huge value. If quiet is a priority, it might be worth paying a bit more elsewhere—but for the price, it’s hard to beat.
