"We had a wonderful stay at Astoria Hotel Italia! The room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained, with beautiful and unique furniture that gave the hotel lots of character. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the continental breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back🌷"
"Excellent choice when traveling to Trieste, especially if you have an early morning outbound flight. Check in was organized, rapid and very cordial. The room was immaculate, well appointed and comfortable; the bathroom had every amenity you could wish for. I arrived about 8:30 pm and thankfully the restaurant was serving until 9:30; the service was very friendly and quick and the food delicious. The reception desk arranged for a taxi at 05:15 am which arrived on time the next morning; the breakfast buffet was already prepared and looked amazing but I only had time for a coffee.
I highly recommend Hotel Major and will definitely stay there again when traveling to Trieste. The entire experience was so pleasant and in addition I felt comfortable and safe as a solo female traveler."
"This is my go-to hotel in Grado. It is modern and clean and more comparable to international hotel standards than most hotels. It's walking distance to the old town. If you get a room on the side of the laguna, you have kind of a cute view of Italian boats.
There are a few things I wish the hotel did differently. The AC could go a little bit lower as in some rooms, it doesn't quite get the job done (although it is OK, especially for an Italian hotel). I with the hotel had a pool. Or at least, I wish the hotel had more shaded seating on the roof-top terrasse. Without any sun protection, it is just too hot to sit up there, which pretty much nullifies that they even have that. And I am just not going to use the small indoor pool. I guess perhaps that makes more sense in the winter, but I have only visited in the summer.
I like the breakfast they offer. The staff has always been great. And when in Italy, you generally have the problem that the hotel standard isn't close to international hotel standards. I like visiting Grado for a few days, as the old town is just incredible. But for the longest time, not having an adequate hotel was a downer to me, especially compared to many of the international locations I go to. But this hotel has become my favorite. It's obviously not a 5-star experience, but it isn't claiming to be. And the price is more than fair.
I'd recommend it, unless you expect a pool."
"Clean hotel in a nice historic building. Gated parking area is a plus. Room was strangely configured and the shower, like many European hotels, was very small. Air conditioning was very good, which is always a plus. Did not have breakfast there, but it looked excellent. Overall, a good place to stay if you are in the area for a couple nights."
"Wonderful four night stay. Professional, helpful and courteous staff. Very clean / comfortable and modern rooms. On site parking, pool/beach access and breakfast were all pluses for our stay."
"I think one of the best customer service I ever had. The Staff is super professional and friendly, from the receptionists to the domestic assistants and the bar attendants.
Hotel always clean, very good breakfast. The only thing I wasn’t very happy about was the price of the parking but all the rest was perfect!!"
"Clean room, very helpful staff, great AC . Good breakfast. Cold beer reasonably priced in the bar. Only downside is no restaurant but a great restaurant a 3min walk away. Would stay again"
