"We had an incredible stay here. The pools were beautiful and well kept. Food was good, of course pricier than local options but still fairly priced and fresh. The landscaping and grounds and boardwalk were a dream though. Amazing work they have done here. It has to be decades of tending and pruning. The property manager was able to help us with our tour plans as well. We found cave tubing and ziplining through her connection to be cheaper than booking online."

"The property grounds and staff there made the experience amazing and memorable. I only have an issue with a couple small things. My toilet broke on the first flush. Housekeeping was quick to fix the issue however. Also, I can tell the towels were cheap, the dinner rolls at the restaurant were microwaved, and the in room bar snacks were old. It would be nice if the owner invested more into these small details. For the rate per night, it must compete well with other luxury hotels. Overall, great...

"Very nice property with great staff. The amenities are a bit expensive and remember that many cabins do not have air conditioning. This can be uncomfortable during the hot months. "

"The hotel was pretty modern and new. The double suite was very large and beautiful. It was a pretty quiet, family business and the staff was so nice and accommodating. It felt like staying with family. The food was delicious as well. The area is pretty isolated, but a short cab ride can take you to town for groceries and restaurants. Super refreshing and pretty pool, and the beds were SO comfortable. "

"The resort is in a delightful location. The location makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. Laying in bed listening to Tucans calling was amazing. "We had a great stay at the West House overall. Good location if you want to be able to walk around San Ignacio (probably the nicest hotel in that area). The reason for the mixed review is that we had something “go missing” from our room during our stay. It wasn’t something that we would ever bring out of the room with us and the worst part is that it was inside one of our bags when we left the room, meaning someone either went through the bag and took it or it fell out during the room cleaning...

"We didnt spend much time in the room other than to sleep. Don't stay in room 24!! Every night there was a full choir singing very loudly until 9pm at night The one night they were singing nursery rhymes, for no reason. The room was right next door and felt like they were inside our space! The up side was the air conditioning was great. We stayed in a Junior suite, so it had a 5 gallon water bottle which we appreciated. There was a kettle, so I brought oatmeal with me for a quick breakfast....

"When I made the reservation I thought we were at the main lodge and not at the camp. Of course the property is beautiful Accommodations were nice beds very comfortable , staff and was great but having to get up to walk to the bathroom was not fun for me so in the future when I book I will be making sure I’m at the main lodge. I think the camp is great for backpackers and those on a budget. "
