"We loved staying here. All the staff were lovely and so helpful. It is situated in Old Habana and is perfect for exploring the various Plaza's and Museums. They changed currency at a much better rate than banks and organized a tour of Old and 'New' Havana, right out to the Parque zoological Nacional with Pupi. Stayed 2 nights wish we had booked more."

"What a wonderful warm welcome to Havana we received from Leo and Angela. Their casa is a truly beautiful 1st floor apartment in one of the spacious and airy colonial-style buildings right in the centre, with a shady balcony providing the perfect spot from which to observe life in the busy street below. "Sublimely extravagant boutique hotel. We have stayed in many luxury hotels and few boutique hotels and El Candil is by far the most amazing experience (yes it's not a stay it's an experience) we have ever had the pleasure of. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and there is nothing they won't do for you. Arranging tours, transfers and great advice. Attention to detail is in every aspect of your experience. We were treated to a roof top terrace with only one other guest. A barman/server and two chefs! We felt like Royalty. Fresh cocktails made to order and beautiful food made fresh to order whilst soaking up the relaxing atmosphere of the private (for guest) roof terrace. The room is beautifully decorated,again with attention to detail in everything. The bed, bedding and pillow are sumptuous. We can't recommend El Candil enough our only regret was not booking this hotel for our entire stay in Havana. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend the hotel and it's staff enough. "
