This was our first time in Puerto Rico and this apartment did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the access to the beach and the walk-ability of this apartment to restaurants.If we are even in Liquillo again we will book here again.

Quick getaway

My first time renting a place like this and I couldn’t have a better experience. The communication between Janet and myself was truly amazing. I ha question, she answered within 24 hours. The place was clean, easy access and no problems getting in. Neighbors and neighborhood was good. Nobody bothered and location is so convenient. Beach right in front, 9 mins away from a local hang out spot. Only 40 mins away from San Juan and the drive was easy. I would visit again and rent the place again!

Beach front stay

We had a great time hearing from the beach front property day and night. Very relaxing! Quick walking distance to the beach and stores! It was a great location to drive the other activities we were going to throughout the week. The host was prompt in getting back to us when we messaged and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Puerto Rico experience!

Great spot

Loved our stay! We walked around the corner to Luquillo swim beach where the water is totally calm. You can also walk to restaurants, coffee shop in town. Super quiet and relaxing spot just the frogs signing you to sleep at night

Perfect location and everything we could want

We love the quiet East end side of the Island for it’s serenity, and Rum point has great snorkeling, restaurants, Starfish point, and the bioluminescent bay within an easy walk/ bike. “The Retreat” is a smaller, oceanfront complex, and our ground floor unit was furnished perfectly, even supplying bikes! And after a hot day outside, the central air conditioning felt so good. I hope we can return.

Beautiful home feel space with 2 comfortable beds in separate bedroom, lovely living space complete!

Easy check in- very responsive guest, very comfortable home feel apartment level with the ocean just steps away. The sea breeze is amazing sitting on the balcony. Equipped kitchen with table setting for 4- leather living set for easy comfy reclining as the ocean breeze crosses the rooms. The host Janet assisted us graciously with an item left behind for recovery. Didn’t want to leave. Will definitely book again. Highly recommended for families.

Location location

Condo was exactly as in pics. No surprises. We loved everything. Balcony overlooking ocean. Convenience of a 2nd half bath. We didnt rent a car so location within walking distance of restaurants and groc store was great. Owner was always in touch. We had no problems. She recommended a driver to us and he was great for pick and return to airport and one side trip. Will definately book here again. It was everything and more. Thank you Janet.

Happy Beach Apartment

We LOVED this property! Across the street from the beach, close to stores and restaurants in Fajardo, great community spirit, excellent walking area. My only (small) complaints- the lighting was dim inside. Suggest changing to Daylight lightbulbs. And , blackout curtains for the front glass doors, as the lights in the parking lot stay on all night. Other than that, it was outstanding. We will be back!

Great location on the beach

Nice apartment, wind going thru it all the time when you open the shutters, AC only in bedroom but that is good as it allows you to get used to the outside temperature. Building is well sound insulated even when neighbors are making noise. Kitchen shutters need mosquito screens. Bathroom faucet will need to be replaced soon, bedroom fan too. Tile flooring thru the whole place, easy to keep clean. Great simple check-in and communication. We had a great time.

Paradise!

Imagine our pleasure when all that looked too good to be true was true indeed. The place is in a location that we are familiar with, and across the street from the beach. We have rented other places in Luquillo but this one was just so easy. Put on bathing suit, walk across the street to beach, and chill. The beach is gorgeous. Our host communicated with us as promised and always immediately. The space itself is lovely and is nice because the building is not too crowded. Our hope is that we are able to enjoy this space again next year. It was a wonderful week.

Honestly the place could have been a little cleaner. The maid left the old dish scrubber in the kitchen and didn't provide a new one. That was kind of yucky especially during covid. However, there was hand sanitizer available and the table was very clean. It was super close to the beach and we loved the beach and other beaches near by.

Very good location

The property is as described. All kitchen needs are there. All towels are there, including beach chairs and beach towels. Location is perfect. Ocean front. Close to Walmart (called Amigo), Walgreens, food stores and restaurants. Close to police station and urgent care clinic. "Close" means within 1 or 2 miles. Within reasonable distance to El Yunque National Forest, whose visit was the best part of our vacation. The beach in front is lined with enough palm trees for shade. The seaweed on the sand and in the near ocean is kind of too much. I got some trouble checking in and some problems during the stay. Janet responded to my texts quickly most of the time. Since some problems occurred on the weekend, the solution could not be fast. It was good overall. I would highly recommend it.

A Nice Place With A Few Quirks

The condo was pretty much as advertised and clean and tidy, though beginning to show its age. There were a few minor issues. 1. Temperamental hot water. It worked fine in the bathroom but to get hot water at the kitchen sink required running the hot water in the laundry at the same time. I don't think the kitchen faucet had enough flow to trigger the in-line water heater. 2. Lots of anti-theft bars everywhere (which we are not used to) led us to wonder what the crime rate is like there. 3. The listing appears to say "no wi-fi" but there is and it works well. 4. The directions reference the "kiosks" as a starting point but if you are not from PR you probably won't have any idea what they are. (We do now). In summary, a very comfortable place to stay in close proximity to the beach.

Beautiful beachfront paradise

My husband had an amazing time. Check in was easy, host was responsive. It's beachfront on Playa Azul, right across the street. We literally didn't even wear shoes and just strolled out with our chairs in bare feet to the beach. They supply beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler, and though we didn't use them some beach toys for kids also. *Be careful if the riptides are bad at Playa Azul, as this beach can be a high action beach at certain times. However, it is a 2 minute drive (or 10 min walk) to the Balneario Monserrate/Luquillo Beach (and the Kiosks) which is always nice and calm. The sunrise was amazing from the balcony. We had the usual basic kitchen amenities, and had a great time cooking at home. We did a fishing charter and caught some fish, so spent a few days cooking our own dinners, including ceviche & whole fried snappers! It's close to the grocery store (Amigo), lots of great restaurants, etc. AC in the bedroom worked great. Beds were firm, which was fine for us. If you have never been to PR before, a great plus of this place is screens on all the windows and a "real" hot water heater for the shower, vs an "in line" water heater. Only drawbacks are things out of anyone's control like municipal loss of water pressure, or other guests in the building being loud or parking in our spot. However these were no reflection on the host or building. Would definitely stay here again.

Good Deal for Ocean Front Waves

The apartment was very nice. it was a spacious little apartment. you can fit four people in the bedroom if two people sleep in one bed and two in the other -- as long as you're comfortable with that. it had a parking space and also an outdoor shower to take the salt off of you after your swim. The washer and dryer were an added bonus. you can't beat having a washer and dryer in any condo. They had a cute little television. unfortunately the cable wasn't working for some reason but I was able to get YouTube and watch some movies and hear music. I did call the property manager and she definitely came over to try to fix it although it was unsuccessful. I would definitely stay here again I thought it was a good deal for Ocean front. The only other issue was some rain that was coming in from the roof falling into the second floor but I put a bucket to tried to help and I believe that issue has to do with the building itself not this particular apartment owner. I had read some of the previous reviews not all of which were good but I'm glad I experienced this myself and I thought it was worth the money. The sound of the ocean every night was incredible. if you do book, make sure you walk towards the end of the beach and you'll have a different perspective of how beautiful this beach is. I would stay again!!!

Oceanfront one bedroom condo

I will start by saying that we had stayed there the prior year and liked it very much. The location and size are perfect for our needs. The bedroom is huge and can accommodate a family of four. That being said, we were caught between the prior owner selling the unit and the new owner had not yet taken possession. There is wifi and a flat screen tv, but there was no cable. You could only stream channels you were subscribed to. We were given 4 keys. Two for the apartment door, one for the gate to the building and I'm not sure what the 4th key was for. None of the keys worked for the gate to the building and we were locked out one evening. Fortunately a neighbor was home and we had to yell for him to let us in. He also tried all four keys to no avail but he loaned us a key for the remainder of our stay. I don't know what we would have done if he had not been home. The next day I called our contact and she acted like I had the right key but didn't know how to use it. She also said that she was in San Juan and couldn't come out. As I said, we were between owners so hopefully that problem has been corrected. Also, there was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash so bring your own. The apartment is a good size and directly across from the beach. It could be the perfect stay and hopefully will be again.

Great location, just OK accommodations

Pros: - Location is great: Across the street from the beach Close access to highway, groceries, pharmacy, Luquillo kiosks. - Beds seemed fairly new and were comfortable. - Unit actually has 1.5 bathrooms; room with washer/dryer also has a sink & toilet. - Adequate setup for simple cooking; we made breakfast for ourself every day. - No issues with electricity, water, etc called out as possible inconveniences in the listing. Cons: - This unit is definitely showing it's age. Lots of rust and corrosion from exposure to humidity and salt air, which is somewhat understandable. However, towels are older, stained and in one case frayed. Ceiling fan in bedroom is loose, had to hold it in place to use pull chains to adjust light and fan speed. Kitchen table legs wobbly which we discovered when sweeping. No fan in bathroom with shower so it was a sauna afterwards. - Property manager seems indifferent to the care and comfort of her guests. When we arrived we could not open the only door to the units. Manager sent over cleaner, cleaner's neighbor and brother-in-law who managed to open the door and change out the broken lock. Not once did she apologize for us losing 2 hours of our day or the inconvenience during a long traveling day. - We were not left with enough toilet paper for 2 people for a 5 day stay, 1 roll almost gone and other 3/4 full when we checked in. No extras provided and we were told none was available, despite listing stating it would be provided.
