Beautiful property; cabanas were super clean and well appointed. Excellent location for quiet evenings away from San Pedro, but with easy access to town or to nearby restaurants, ATM, and 30 min to Secret Beach. Gorgeous sunrises to watch off the dock. Site manager Ben was an amazing host.

Very pleasant, quiet stay at Cocotal for 5 nights. Had our own cabana equipped well for meal prep. Staff helpful both before arrival and during stay. Clean rooms and grounds well kept. Easy to walk up and down “beach”. Nice location, away from the bustle of town but close enough to go as we pleased. Shuttle from & to airport/ferry arranged for us. Only improvement would be to heat the pool water.

We got the whole resort to ourselves due to it being the off/rainy season. Very private area with no loud noises or golf carts. Very nicely kept pool and grounds. Overall it was a great stay

We stayed in three of the cabanas on the property which were lovely. Spacious, comfortable and clean with a full kitchen in each one. Pool was delightful and the dock convenient for getting picked up by boat. Staff was excellent.

Staff was extremely helpful. Property is very clean and well kept. Within 5-10 minute walking distance of great restaurants. Waterfront does not have a sandy beach for easy swimming, but the dock with hammocks was lovely. Really great to have access to kayaks and bikes. Staff was awesome at helping us book tours, organize rides, etc.

Our cabana was lovely and very well equipped with towels, linens, and a fully stocked kitchen. There is no restaurant but several were within walking distance. The staff was available and attentive to all of our needs both during the reservation process and while we were there. I would highly recommend securing a golf cart to get around the island.

Relaxing Hotel

We rented B2 (Beach front casita). Nice front porch to sit and look at the beach. The room was well equipped though a little heavier comforter (or blanket) would have been nice (the AC worked well!). The pool was clean and the whole place was relaxing. We rented a golf cart through the place the hotel had recommended and it was delivered and picked up at the hotel - very easy. Not in control of the hotel, but the sargassum was horrible. It was all stacked on the beach (high winds had been going for several days) and it just smelled so bad.

People were great and cabin/rooms are nice, spacious, well equipped and priced within reason. Nice quite area away from main city and traffic. Unfortunately no swimming access to the ocean but they do have a great clean pool. Unfortunately a lot of weeds were coming to the shore and the aroma was not interesting. But overall a nice, small resort with an attentive staff. They included transportation to and from the airport. I’d go back!

Awesome! We chose Cocotal because it was outside the busy, noisy city of San Pedro, but close enough to walk, golf cart or cycle into town. We also liked the fact that they offer free transfers to and from the airport. Ben met us when we checked in and went over everything in detail. We booked a beachfront casita, which was roomy and quiet. Cocotal offers free bicycles with a lock if you want to ride into town and kayaks if you want to cruise around offshore. Ben also helped us book a snorkeling trip to Hol Chan. The room was super clean and did not smell damp. With all the heat and humidity, this can be a problem. The pool was very nice (not too hot, so it felt refreshing to jump in). There are plenty of chairs and lounge chairs in the pool area, on our porch, and right next to the water with plenty of shade to hide from the hot sun. After we checked out and were heading for the airport, Ben called our driver to tell us we had left our binoculars in our casita. Our flight was due to leave in 30 minutes, but Ben said he could make it in time to bring the binoculars, and he did! We would definitely come back here if we ever return to Ambergris Caye.

We loved staying here! We enjoyed that it was a bit north of the main town so that it was quiet and peaceful, but very easy to get to. We used the bikes everyday - a huge bonus. It was also convenient to have pick up/drop off at the airport. We stayed in the main house and had a lovely time.

We stayed at Cocotal for one week in November 2022 and had an amazing time! Would highly recommend the B-2 cabana, it was the perfect size for two and right on the beach - paradise. Would recommend renting a golf cart, the resort has bikes but it was nice to have the cart and know we could go anywhere on the island if we wanted. All the staff at Cocotal were amazingly friendly and helpful answering our many questions, helping us book a snorkel tour and picking us up from the airport (even though our flight came in early)! We would definitely recommend this place and hope to be back someday soon!

Property was great. Beach cabin was very nice. Clean, friendly staff, pool and great beach area. Only problem was the sand flies!! Unbelievable number of bites and they itch like crazy. I think if they would rake and spray were the beach chairs are there would not be such a problem. We are still scratching and have been home 3 days. Again, the property is beautiful and was a great visit.

This is a beautiful, tropical property tucked away from the main road with its own pier and water access. The staff is great, always very helpful. I consider it an excellent value for the price and friends, who came to visit, who were staying at other properties, were really impressed with the whole set up. the only negative consideration is that the cabana that we stayed in was quite dark. I would recommend substituting the old fluorescent bulbs with new, brighter, LEDs. Otherwise, we could not be happier with our stay!
