"Decent hostel, great location, basic facilities, nice wall art."

"Nice enough room, great location and excellent staff, comfy bed, only issue was a bad smell that came from the drains, the staff were quick to spray the drains for us but it only temporarily masked the smell. Didn’t affect our stay massively but would have been nice to not have an odour. Would still recommend for a short stay in sandakan!"

"It's a piece of luxury in an interesting place - don't let the exterior building fool you. You can be walking into another world in Sandakan and Hotel Sandakan is a sanctuary amongst it. The staff emulate the local Sabahan hospitality and friendliness, I will stay again next time."

"There are improvements being carried out, which will make a difference in the future. We were unable to get the advertised wifi at all, despite the router being reset many times. This was annoying.
