"Lobby was lovely. Room was clean and well maintained. I love the no carpeting so it's not dusty. Little teapot in room was great. It has a restaurant which was nice if we needed it. Great airport hotel."

"This is not a comment about the Start Hostel but about Expedia which seems to have deteriorated dramatically as a service provider in recent month. I went to check in for my stay starting May 28th - 29th and the system booked a room for me for May 27th - 28th. When I attempted to contact Expedia on their Virtual Chat or to Cancel the reservation, the system gave an error and would not let me do the same. Start Hostel was EXCEPTIONAL in trying to help in every way possible. Get it together Expedia as there are so many competitors - there is little interest in poor systems and customer service in this day and age."

"All of the staff were so kind and helpful. We were able to check in early after a red eye flight. Our group enjoyed the quiet and the cozy lounge spaces to hang out as a group. We used the restaurant for all of our meals as we arrived on a windy, rainy day. This is a great spot to stop for a night if you plan to visit the Blue Lagoon after flying into REK. The lava fields surrounding the hotel are other worldly!"

"Stayed two nights. Central Kef location. Small self-checkin facility with exterior access rooms. Comfortable, clean, updated rooms. We used as base to sightseeing activities in the Kef and Reykjavik areas."

"The front desk staff when we were checking in (couldn’t remember the whole name but start with Aj) was pleasant, knowledgeable and very accommodating. We thought he was the owner! Our room is very nice, clean and roomy, unlike a typical European room, small. The only thing would make this hotel perfect is the blackout drape since the Sun never sets ! The Fiskbarinn restaurant was great not just the food but also the service. The check out staff was also pleasant, he made the best expresso! Highly recommended. "

"Immediately next to airport terminal, and yet not noisy. Great if you are arriving on a late night flight. One slight issue is that there is nothing to eat late at night, so plan accordingly. "

"Wonderful! We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer. So comfortable; slept amazingly well. The restaurant is really good, and the breakfast was delicious too. We could see the ocean from our room, which was right at the end of the row, along with grazing ponies and two lighthouses. It’s in a really quiet area with nothing to disturb your repose. Highly recommended. "
