Sunset Studio is located on the western edge of Sugar Cane Beach looking out across Mangrove Bay towards the west. It is the sister cottage to Sugar Cane Cottage (www.vrbo.com/3685978), which is located at the other end of Sugar Cane Beach. It is 10 minutes from Dockyard and 15 minutes from the main beaches.

It is a single room studio unit with a loft space for sleeping, modelled on the tiny house concept. There is a full king sized bed in the loft area, together with small built in closets either side of the bed. The living area comprises a corner sofa unit that can convert to 2 single beds. The kitchenette is a very compact “galley” style kitchen that has a full stove, under counter fridge/freezer, toaster & electric kettle. Flat screen TV in lounge and loft area with fire tv and firestick, internet access, air-conditioning throughout. The bathroom has a large shower.

The unit has direct access to our beach and there are also stairs leading to the waters of Mangrove Bay on the northern boundary. The patio area overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Northern side of the unit. On the Southern side will be a sheltered garden with a bar-b-que area (once the landscaping is finished).

The exterior of the unit is designed to resemble the wooden cottages built in Somerset in the late 19th – early 20th Centuries, by West Indian workers who were brought to the Island to work at Dockyard. Please note the loft area is accessed by a compact staircase and may not be suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

This was our second stay at this lovely cottage on Mangrove Bay in Somerset Village. Christine is wonderful to deal with and our stay had all the right amounts of beach time, snorkeling, relaxation, ferry trips to both Hamilton and St George and some really great food throughout our stay. We were at first disappointed to find that our favorite fish sandwhich joint (Woody’s) was not serving food any longer, but we found an equally good one at Fishbones at the dockyard. Shout out also to the restaurants at Cambridge Beaches (easy walking distance). We had several spectacular meals there. Great time was had for sure and we will be back.

AMAZING!! This was our 2nd time staying here and I can’t say enough great things about it! Perfect size for my husband and I, unbelievable views, clean, quiet, and easy access to everything in Bermuda because the bus stop is only a few steps away. Hands down, best VRBO property on the island for a couple! The location is perfect - right by a bus stop surrounded by your own stunning beaches. The snorkeling was excellent each day and the paddleboards and noodles were a great perk. You get to enjoy the sunrise and sunset daily from the yard/beach. We felt like we didn't need to leave the property - it was our own little paradise. Christine was great as well. We took her up on her offer of picking up/delivering our grocery order which was lovely of her to do for us. Greatly appreciated and can't wait to get back!

Bonus: Great Bonefishing!

We had a WONDERFUL stay and can't wait to go back. It is such a beautiful spot and we were so happy to discover that the fishing (and swimming) is excellent right from the rocks on the property. The hosts were wonderful and gave some great fishing tips as well!

Epic Staycation

Sugar Cane Cottage was totally amazing, from the Tiny Home to the prestine grounds incl the private beach. The property was clean upon arrival with all the amenities, and within close proximity to Somerset Village, Woody's and Dockyard. Love love love it. Making this an annual Staycay without a doubt!

Beautiful location

This property needs some repairs and upgrades. The location is beautiful. It is very near the bus stop and ferry so it is a great location to get around. The host was responsive enough. In all honesty we would not return.

This cottage is absolutely stunning! Just what we needed for a romantic getaway on the edge of the ocean. Completely private and had everything. So convenient to everything if you want to venture out, but we rarely did because there is no nead to leave. Owner was great and the entire process was very easy.

Unbelievable

This location is just unbelievable. Wake up in the morning and have your coffee overlooking the beautiful blue water and finish your day watching the sunset right in front of you. Getting around is really easy with buses going by all the time and the bus stop is very close. We would stay here again for sure.

Better than we expected!

This spot is a GEM! Not only is the property gorgeous and on the water, but we were surprised at the beautiful deck furniture, a fire pit, snorkeling gear and a paddle board! Our host was very communicative and offered great information on transportation and food. She even offered to pick up groceries for us! I highly recommend this cottage for your intimate stay on the island!

A beautiful place to stay!!!

This is one of the most beautiful places to stay on the island!! The views are gorgeous and the water lovely for swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Plus you will not get better care or attention from the owner, if needed. This is our second time here and we will be back! Thank you again, Christine!

Tranquility At It’s Finest

Amazing location in the most peaceful of settings. I stayed here for five nights and enjoyed it the fullest. You are just feet away from the water each morning you open the front door. There is so much to take in and experience. I was able to kayak to nearby islands, grill out on the bbq, frequent local eateries, workout at the nearby gym, and enjoy endless sightseeing. I’ve been to over 15 Caribbean islands and this is easily in my top 3 of best places to stay. Loved every second I was here.

Paradise

To open your french doors and see the beautiful turquoise waters is amazing. The 'Tiny Blue'house was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and it is situated on its own beach with chairs, kayak and paddle boards. Christine has a true treasure in this house. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Cottage!

This property is absolutely stunning! We had a easy check in process as well as check out. The host was vwry quick to reply - which was very appreciated. Transportation needs are met through the taxi or bus line. One thing i will mentiom is there is not mucj to see "tourist" wise near the cottage Tou will need to transportation to go pretty much anywhere to eat. Again this place is great and well worth the cisit!

Everything was great! Private little beach was awesome , few short steps to the bus stop which was great and the ferry (limited schedule) which worked out perfectly for us going to Harbor night. The property had everything we needed for cooking. We were able to see glow worms right out back which was neat to see. We’ll definitely be back

A wonderful week

For our first trip to Bermuda, we wanted to concentrate our time on the iconic water and lots of walking, less so on tourist attractions. This Somerset spot was perfect for us. We snorkeled right off the beach here (great fish variety), fished almost every day from the rocks, made several kayak trips and on a low-wind day, used the SUP's! We had a great time. The water here is as spectacular as the pictures show. We didn't rent a car or moped (we might if we came again) but we had no trouble using the bus system, which is extremely convenient to the cottage. We also walked to lots of places, and had no difficulty walking on the roads. The cottage is compact and has everything you need, but honestly we spent most of our time outdoors! The host, Christine, was very welcoming, helpful and responsive.

Fall Break

A short long weekend for our daughter’s fall break gave us an opportunity to visit Bermuda. The location with private beach was beautiful! The water was a little chilly but we enjoyed snorkeling and swimming. Also had a little time to use the clear bottom kayak. Water was a little rough when I was able to give it a try. Would love to e back when I can stay longer during warmer weather.
