"We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Athena, which had been recommended by a friend. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside. Great shower and nice bed. The staff we met were all extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a huge spread, with enough variety to satisfy everyone. Visitors to Siena should know that it is a very hilly town. The center is quite close to the hotel, but it's an uphill walk. Not too steep, but it will keep you in shape. Most hotels in town will have the same issue. It's so beautiful that it's well worth it. After a day of walking the town, it's a lovely downhill walk to the hotel."

"Positively incredible hotel and experience. Staff was very polite and responsive even for us (who did not take the time to learn even a tiny bit of italian before our visit). Mattress, pillows, and linens were all amazingly comfortable. We slept like babies even with a little bit of urban noise at night (though there not much). Location was terrific for walking to all the normal attractions, even attending an opera. Morning in-room breakfast service was a highlight for us. Simple food but really sets this hotel apart. Would definitely recommend to anyone. My wife has already said when we come back to Florence we won't stay anywhere else!"

"From different hotels I've stayed in Florence in the past, I'd say Minerva was the better one. These are what you may notice: roomier lounge, more light, roof top view, and also very educated staff. The room service manager is very smart in timing and the location is less than 10 min walk to Duomo or Uffizzi, and Vecchio, etc. Also if you have car, the area in front of hotel is great for valets or parking, and taxis can come to pick you up easily (specially if want to attend a venue) "
