Very nice cottage
This wee cottage in the mountains was a delightful beginning to our stay on Madeira. It is very tight, but very cozy. The fireplace turned out to be the perfect touch to end out days after being out and about. KItchenette was basic but functional for small meals - don't plan on extravagant cooking. There is no TV. If you are planning on walking the Levada on the property, be sure to get clear instructions on where it is when you check in - we couldn't find it! Be sure to go to Abrigo do Pastor restaurant (you get a discount from the hotel) about 15 minutes up the mountain - this restaurant is well regarded in Madeira and has a nice hunting lodge atmosphere and huge proportions.

Superb maisonette
This is more than bungalows. They are actually maisonettes with quite some room and even a fireplace. Staff always full of advice about visiting too. Warmly recommended.

Wohnen im Park
Hier wird man wunderbar entschleunigt. Das Häuschen befindet sich in einem riesigen Park, am Morgen wird man meist von fünf Pfauen begrüßt. Auf dem terrassenartigen Platz vor dem Häuschen hat man ganztägig Sonne und direkten Blick auf das Meer. Da lässt es sich gut auf einen Fernseher verzichten!

Un petit coin paisible
Environnement magnifique, diverses petites maisons pleines de charme disséminées dans un parc verdoyant à deux pas de Funchal (5-10min en voiture). Calme assuré et accueil des plus chaleureux (un verre de Madère en guise de bienvenue).

Un peu trop isolé
Arrivée en milieu d'apm, bon accueil de la propriétaire et de la personne chargée de l'entretien. Logement conforme au descriptif, retour en France le surlendemain de bonne heure donc peu de temps pour profiter de la terasse , en plus le temps ne s'y prète pas ce qui rend l'environnement un peu tristoune. Au calme, mais le coq chante le matin de bonne heure!!!

Ruhig und im Grünen
Die kleinen Landhäuschen liegen etwas abgeschieden auf einem ruhigen reich begrünten und bepflanzten weitläufigen Grundstück und stehen so weit voneinander entfernt, dass man - auch beim Frühstück in der Sonne vor der Tür - von den Nachbarn nichts mitbekommt. In der Küche ist alles da, was man braucht, um selbst etwas schönes zu kochen. Gemütlich ist es, abends am Kamin zu sitzen und den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Ein Auto sollte man aber haben, da man seine Unterkunft dann erstens besser erreicht und um sich zweitens das Einkaufen zu erleichtern. Die Unterkunft befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Korbflechterhochburg Camacha und Wandermöglichkeiten gibt es auch in unmittelbarer Nähe.

2012-13 New Year visit
We visited the place in 2012-12 New Year. impressions: 1. the place is located 700 meters above sea level so nights/mornings were cold - around +6 degrees - not like in Funchal. 2. the house itself is very cold/wet - even lots of heaters could not make living in the house comfotable. 3. water heating was able to produce a small portions of lukewarm water which was far from comfortable. 4. bread in the morning - nice touch but the bread was untasty - so do not recommend to take. it. 5. smell from chimney was omnipresent across the house and did not make it any mor ecomfortable. Overall - probably nice place in case you stop in it during summer. DO NOT take it for winters. early spring.

Le Cebola,
Rustikt hus beliggende i bjergene uden for Funchal med let adgang til levadaer. Vi boede i Le Cebola (løghuset) Det store private område, hvor husene ligger i ugenert afstand fra hinanden er i sig selv en botanisk have, som er velplejet. Træer og buske har navneskilte. En fin service.. Huset er hyggeligt indrettet. Vi havde i december/januar god brug for de opstillede radiatorer og den hyggelige pejs. Leonor pynter op med lys og blomster. Med stor venlighed blev vi hjulpet til rette med oplysninger om restauranter, taxakørsel m.v. Vær opmærksom på, at man ikke modtager kreditkort, så sørg for at have kontanter til betalingen. Huset har 3 gode soveværelser og 2 badeværelser, så der er rigelig plads til 6 personer.
