Amazing location and service

Everything was as described. Walkable to everything in Santa Cruz. The property was beautiful, well kept and properly appointed. Would definitely come again.

Ideal retreat

I came for a week of solitude and writing. The carriage house was a perfect setting: very comfortable bed, living space, great bathroom and kitchen fully stocked. I loved ending my day sitting on the balcony. The location is ideal if you love to stroll by the ocean and take in the unique scene of Santa Cruz. The pictures are very are accurate, except they don’t show the two comfy reading chairs next to the round dining table. Khristin is such a kind and gracious host! I highly recommend her home!!

Very Pleasant Area and Accommodations

The carriage house is in a great location in a nice neighborhood. It's an ideal place for walking to the wharf or along West Cliff Drive. Khristina is very responsive and pleasant. The carriage house is just as it looks in the photos, very comfortable and charming. I had a very nice vacation here.

Great Stay In A Beautiful Place

This was the ideal location for a quiet yet fun weekend getaway. The space is very well maintained and paced with beautiful details. When we were ready to head out and enjoy Santa Cruz, it was a very short walk to the boardwalk, a short drive to downtown SC. The hosts were friendly, and very responsive. I’d love to stay for another weekend, and I would recommend the same to my friends!

Wonderful Christmas!

We stayed here for a week over the Christmas holiday. The location was great, walking distance to the wharf and lots of places to get food. The unit was so cute, clean and very well appointed. The shower is terrific! The owner is easy to communicate with throughout the whole process.

Charming House-great neighborhood

The Carriage House is a wonderful little hideaway within walking distance of the most beautiful part of Santa Cruz. My family loved the beach access and the quiet. It is very well-maintained and the customer service was way above and beyond what is usually expected. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting the full Santa Cruz experience. We were grateful to find this magical place and look forward to our next trip!

Best Host Ever!

She was so amazing! We were there for a race of mine and had forgotten some things and she was so quick to offer help. It was so sweet and helped reduce my stress so I could focus on the race. Perfect location and space. So cute and comfy bed, which was much needed! I could go on but I think I’ve made my point. If I come back to do this race again, I will definitely want to stay here.

A Fabulous Hidden Gem!

Khristina's carriage house is a perfect place to stay if you're looking for relaxed quiet elegance in an intimate setting. It's ideal location makes walking to the beach, Boardwalk, downtown Santa Cruz or just strolling along West Cliff Dr perfect any time of year. Khristina is a wonderful host and makes you feel like family the moment you arrive. My wife and I are already planning our next visit... it's just that good!

Santa Cruz Getaway

My husband and I stole away an extended weekend to celebrate our Anniversary. This beautiful, relaxing, and stunning carriage house is located north of the boardwalk and south of the surf museum and surfers coves. We spent the entire time walking leisurely along the promenade, loving every moment, preparing food from the sweet open kitchen. The place is so cute with outstanding details that felt so completely home and personal. We cannot wait to return ASAP.

Chic and Adorable

Khristina is fantastic! We LOVED the house and the location and it was a delight to stay in this historic building. Everything we wanted to do was super close including great restaurants. We walked each morning which is across the street from the ocean (very convenient). The kitchen is beautifully equipped, including a few goodies in the refrigerator. We had a great time. Thank you again.

A Perfect Stay

We loved our stay. The cottage was literally steps to W. Cliff Drive with its trail along the ocean cliffs on the Westside of Santa Cruz. It was easy to see why the owner had won awards for restoration of the Carriage House. It was both beautiful and so thoughtfully done. Every day we noticed new details that were thematic, considerate or just pretty. Those little "surprises" were themselves a pleasure. Everything from the "horse" theme to the detail of the hardware chosen to the beach glass appearance of the sconces to the fact that every pan or utensil I wanted for the cooking I did I was able to find. It was really perfect.One last thought. The bed was so comfortable. The older I get the more leery I am of sleeping anywhere other than my own bed. I slept VERY well at the cottage. I'm sure the sounds of the ocean enhanced that great mattress.

Just dreamy

The perfect place to get away from it all. The location on West Cliff Drive is amazing, with all the scenery, wildlife, and people watching you could ever want. But the Carriage House itself feels entirely serene and quiet. On the second floor, you can get a peep of the bay and the wharf, birdwatch, appreciate the tree tops, and just barely hear the sea lions barking. The furnishings are comfortable and beautiful. And the bathroom omg the bathroom. My husband and I are now discussing how we can refurbish our bathroom to be more like this one. We hope to be back soon!

Adorable carriage House right near the beach

Yeah this was simply an adorable redone carriage house from the 1800s. Steps to the beach and dog friendly. We loved everything about it such an amazing stove as well. Original floors were fantastic. The neighborhood is beautifully manicured the people are nice and even in the middle of a pandemic you can walk your dog all over and breathe fresh air. Surrounding Redwood Capitola Carmel all wonderful. The hostess was lovely great communicator. Thank you

Inviting Respite

This well hidden carriage house was restored beautifully. We so enjoyed our stay! The kitchen was well stocked and functional, but it still had an historic look. For a restoration, the bathroom was exquisite. The bed was super comfortable. We had been in a recent car accident, so this was very important for our old-age aches and pains. We loved our walks with our dog over looking the ocean. We so loved that our elder dog was welcomed. Khristina connected well with us and is an amazing host. We hope to return.

Santa Cruz Gem

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic four night stay with our little dog as part of our 20 year wedding anniversary. The Carriage House is tastefully decorated, well appointed, cozy and comfortable. A modern vintage look and feel. We appreciated all those touches in such an ideal and convenient location. Great neighborhood, walk to beaches, surfing and wharf views and a short drive to other interests. A keen ear can hear the surf and call of the sealions. Santa Cruz is very dog friendly, he thoroughly enjoyed himself, going everywhere we went. We hope to return to continue our adventures. Thanks for everything. Best, John & Andrea

A stunning property and doggy's delight

An amazing property and a fabulous host. The owner Khristina was so easy to communicate with. Very responsive and friendly, my pups and I immediately felt at home. The dogs loved the special treats that were waiting for them and there were even dog bowls available. There are plenty of activities in Santa Cruz for both dogs and their humans. Dog friendly beaches, Henry Cowell State Park or abandon the car and take a scenic walk by the ocean from the Carriage House to the Surfing Museum and Lighthouse Field State Beach. The history behind the Carriage House and the materials used to construct it are fascinating. The bed is comfy and the stove should be an art piece in a museum. The refrigerator was stocked with fabulous beverages and coffee was available to brew. The place was immaculate. Very, very clean. The rain head shower was a divine luxury after a long day of exploring. We can't wait for our next visit!

Terry and Kevin's excellent vacation!

Our week at the carriage house was dreamy, almost beyond words...but seeing that this a review, I'll do my best. The grounds are jaw dropping, and when we opened the door to our abode we jumped for joy. My husband and I really really care about where we stay...we're not "dump your suitcase and hit the streets" folks. The carriage house exceeded our expectations in every way. So very peaceful and comfortable, and don't get me started about the wondrous plank floors! The amenities were thoughtful and welcomed, and starting my day with a cup of great coffee on the balcony, with the wharf in view, has spoiled me for some time to come. The bathroom was spacious and spotless and lovely, the fireplace upped the cozy factor, and the bed was just right. (The sliding barn door is a nice touch, offering privacy and napping options!) The kitchen was just right too...good if you want to cook up a storm or just keep it simple. (Cute mugs, bowls, and plates too, if that's your thing...charming!) We hung out around the dining table a lot, visiting with family and playing cribbage! And the upholstered arm chairs are something I am seriously coveting! Seriously though, I tend to read reviews from people I don't know, with a grain of salt. That said, we have traveled for a living and have traveled a lot. This carriage house is a no brainer choice. I would, hands down recommend staying here, especially for a couple looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway in Santa Cruz. Sincerely, Terry and Kevin

The Absolute Best Place to Stay in Santa Cruz

Where does one begin to describe this Carriage House gem? Setting - I am a history nut...self described of course....so staying in an authentic 1887 Carriage house was a dream. Add that with being right on West Cliff was a gift from the Gods for both my husband and I. The Carriage House - upon climbing the stairs to our home for the week ...I was excited...my excitement grew once I saw the interior. The kitchen was filled with treasures...from the SMEG fridge to the Italian stove....to the refreshing drinks in the fridge. Sweet table to eat our meals with a little balcony to catch a peek view of the ocean. Comfy love seat to watch tv in the evenings. The bedroom was adorable ...,comfortable mattress....the softest sheets. I loved the closest! The bathroom was to die for....rain shower head....plus a hand held....luxerious shampoo and conditioner. Even the towels were chosen with care.......I think that is the bottom line....every single item in the Carriage House was chosen with meticulous care.So that brings us to Khristine....she is why you MUST stay here. She is the one behind this gem of a Carriage House. She makes you welcome and treats you like life long friends.....she was even gracious to our two over protective chihuahuas. So ...if I were you I would stay here as soon as possible......because when my husband and I win the lottery ...we are going to stay here year round

Magical Stay in Historic Carriage House

My husband & I & our dog, Lottie, just returned from a wonderful four night stay at this wonderful cottage. It is a cozy nest. This was the perfect place for a romantic get-away. Khristina has lovingly converted an old carriage house on her historic property into a guest cottage. I love to cook! The kitchen is fantastic with a gorgeous vintage style gas stove/oven. To fit the style of her cottage, she has an amazing Smeg retro-style refrigerator. There were plenty of cooking supplies/utensils. Khristina is a warm, kind wonderful host! She is so friendly & knows so much about her neighborhood. She even brought us an unexpected bottle of amazing wine. I was an enologist/assistant winemaker before I retired & I know how special this wine was...plus we drank it & it was outstanding. I highly recommend this amazing property. Yay!
