"Great service by staff, especially at the reception desk and bar. Breakfast not best quality, even though they offer a variety (i.e coffee at expresso machine and “bacon” not good). Location is a 20+ minute walk from main attractions such us pedestrian bridge Pedro and Ines. To go to university of Coimbra definitely need a taxi, but you can come back on foot as long as it is still daylight. "
"Lovely hotel beside the river in Coimbra. Very walkable to the centre of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a fantastic view of the river and was very spacious. The buffet breakfast was great, with lots of different options. Highly recommend!"

Anyone's guess why Expedia or the property didn't simply advise us of this in advance The room itself was on two floors, up a steep flight of stairs to get to the first of the 2 floors (no elevator, which is not uncommon in Europe though). ...
