Eastern Lake Lakefront! Easy access to the Gulf! Pirate Ship & Treehouse!

Unlimited access to the beach. This spacious, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage is nestled in a grove of scrub oaks, on a bluff overlooking Eastern Lake. The Gulf of Mexico is about a 200 yard walk, due south. When you use the county access walkway, it leads you to over 350' of county owned public beach, surrounding the Eastern Lake Inlet, a gorgeous place for kids to play.
You will have to wade across the Inlet, which is sometimes ankle deep, or sometimes thigh deep water, or you can use a completely "dry" public access about 75 yard west of there. We think the most enjoyable way to get to the beach is to paddle in one of the canoes and kayaks that we provide. The cottage is the bottom half of our home, and it features a Pirate Ship and a Treehouse for fun and amusement.
Deer Lake State Park is less than 1 mile to the east. All of Scenic Highway 30-A is connected by a pedestrian bicycle and walking path. WaterSound, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach are within about 6 miles to the east. The Big Chill is a restaurant/ shopping hub about 2 miles east, and the town of Seaside is about 3 miles west.
This house is located in a quiet, nice old Florida neighborhood south of 30-A on Eastern Lake, with restaurants, shops, golfing, and bike rentals nearby. There is limited parking. We must stress to you that we have a 7 PERSON MAXIMUM CAPACITY and have PARKING available for only ONE CAR.

If you need additional bedrooms and parking spaces, we also offer a separate 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom rental home with a swimming pool, located right next door. You can view it at VRBO #721289

Beautifully Amazing!

This property was beautiful and quiet! We are a family of four and we had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. This area was quiet, which we loved! It was also an easy walk to the beach but be prepared to cross a thigh high inlet to get there! My son fished off the dock the entire time we were there! Overall, a great family vacation!

A special spot on 30A

Really cool house. Right on Eastern Lake. Perfect location. Close to beach. House was perfect for our family of 4. Kids loved the pirate ship (truly an awesome creation!). Hosts were on site but we never felt like our privacy was compromised. The dock on the lake was awesome. And all of the included equipment was a huge bonus. Great kayaks, a canoe and beach gear available to use. This is a really great place to stay.

Wonderful getaway

Our family had a wonderful stay with Nina and Garret. The house is gorgeous and felt like home. Our kids loved canoeing to the beach and playing on the pirate ship. We rode our bikes everywhere, only a few miles from Seaside.

Wonderful stay

This house was perfect for our family of four (kids aged 2 and 8). The kids loved the pirate ship and treehouse! We loaded up the canoe to take our stuff to the beach each day. The beach area was ideal for small children where Eastern Lake meets the ocean. Our toddler loved playing in the shallow water there. The house itself was very relaxing and we enjoyed drinking coffee on the shady patio with views of the lake. It was like having a beach house and a lake house in one. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

Stunning location

Lovely unit tucked in among the live oak and overlooking eastern lake with a view of the gulf from the deck. Really a special treat staying on such a beautiful coastal dune lake. We especially enjoyed kayaking under the 30-A bridge to the far shore of the lake. Kayaking to the beach was a fun five-minute jaunt. Stunning location.

Magical Cottage

“Of Days Gone By”, was the perfect place for my husband and I. Everything was just right. Plenty of space inside, and lots of lovely outdoor spaces. A quick bike ride or walk to the gulf. We really enjoyed being on the lake and having the kayak for exploring. Wonderful places to shop and eat close by. I hope we will be back for many years to come.

Great Small Family Stay

This is a great location for the kids to play in the nearby inlet of Eastern Lake. You can literally walk and play in the knee deep water of the inlet or access the beach adjacent to the lake. The room is a comfortable 1 bedroom for the adults and there is a bunk bed in the main living room for the kids. This is a great location if you are looking to have good access to Seaside, Rosemary or the beach areas in between.

Always a great stay in this Eastern Lakefront property. Owners are always great host, unit is very clean and accommodating for all near by beach towns and activities. Paddle around the lake, paddle to the beach, walk or bike - take your pick or do all three! The beach is a short walk two public access. You can rent beach chair at Ramsgate access or this unit has great chairs that where easy to carrry with a great umbrella. All the beach town you would need too! Great places to eat near by....already miss the morning coffee sitting on the deck over looking the lake watching the sun rise - and the sun sets....Can't wait for a return trip very soon!

Great 2 week vacay

This property had it all. Location, tree house and pirate ship that the kids loved, kayaks, surf boards, umbrella, chairs. We didn’t have to come with anything. Also really liked the space, we didn’t feel cramped as a family of 4 in a 2 bedroom. We loaded up kayaks every day with gear and off to the beach. Very happy and would recommend.

What a treat!

There aren't enough adjectives to describe how lovely our stay was at Garrett's place.The home has been improved even more since the pictures so it's even better than what is pictured, believe it or not! Our 3, 8 and 10 year old kiddos loved playing on the pirate ship and we loved the convenience of being able to load everyone on canoes and paddle ourselves to the beach each day. The home felt very private and comfortable - we had all we needed for a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful home! Thank you Garrett for being such a great host!

Cute little apartment for a small family!

Well kept grounds and plenty of room to eat and relax outdoors. Kids loved the pirate ship. Would recommend only for small families of 4-5 for comfort. Parking was limited to parallel to street only so be careful with small children. We found it just as easy to walk to the beach although an aluminum canoe is available. Owners were easy to contact via email and clear instructions given days before arriving.

Nice get away

The property was beautiful, lots of trees and shade. As said by other guests, the upstairs is occupied by the owner but that was never a problem. We used the numerous human propelled watercraft to get to the beach daily, but a short walk would’ve done the same. It’s a quaint little neighborhood and the property manager was very receptive to communication and outlined the stay perfectly. If you’re looking for seclusion and a good place to sit on a dock and have a cocktail or coffee this is your place.

Perfect for families!

We absolutely loved our stay! Our active family of five (kids are 7,13,17) had an awesome time! Fishing off the dock was a big hit followed by kayaking on eastern lake and to the beach. The inlet lake right at the beach was the perfect play area for our 7 year old-he made friends each day playing in the calmer lake water. Being right on the multi use path made biking and running easy for mom and dad. Add in the proximity to dining and shopping and we couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. We’ve vacationed down on 30A 10 times now and this year was one of the best for sure! Thank you!!

Beware this property if you need to privacy..

Neighbors very close and very noisy. “Sea grove Beach” isn’t like a private house, it’s a small part a whole house with a separate entrance.

Outstanding!

I can’t even put into words how magical this property is! You literally walk into a secret garden of trees hanging with twinkle lights, private decks over looking Eastern Lake and so much foliage that you can’t even see the ground. It is breathtaking! The stairs leading down to the dock and shed full of kayaks for your use is tree covered and feels like a nature trail. The unit itself is gorgeous and perfectly matches the outside. The photos posted with the listing are current and up to date so what you see is exactly what you get. We had a few questions upon check in and the owners replied within minutes and addressed them. We have always stayed beach front next to Eastern Lake but this unit has ruined us for all condos! We will only be staying at Of Days Gone By from now on!

Best kept secret around! Can't wait to stay here again!

We just returned from a dream trip to the beach! The house was just perfect for our family. It is beautifully decorated in a beachy theme. And we loved everything outside too- the covered porch with a swing, a pirate ship for the kids to play on, private deck, dock overlooking the lake, plus a canoe to use! The queen bed was so comfortable with lush linens. Our kids loved the bunk beds too and said they were very comfortable. We loved playing dominoes at the large kitchen table at night. We rented bikes and rode everywhere. The house is in close proximity to everything! My husband and son would load up the canoe with all of our beach stuff and row down to the inlet to the beach- a very short distance. My daughter and I would ride our bikes down to the boardwalk to meet them, just a few houses down the road. Having the lake and beach at the same time was so cool! We would ride our bikes to get afternoon snacks and we could easily ride our bikes through Seagrove and be in Seaside in about 10 minutes. It was honestly quicker to bike than to drive there at dinner time. The dock was such a peaceful place to just sit and watch the sunrise or gaze down the inlet to the ocean. The homeowner made sure we had everything we needed. We had full access to a shed full of beach toys and equipment, although we used our own items. But there was plenty in there to choose from. It was such a quiet and peaceful place. We cannot wait to stay here again! I would recommend Of Days Gone By to anyone I know! Thanks for a great week!!!

Awesome beach house

We had a great time at this house! It was since and shaded and offered a beautiful view of the inlet lake. Our boys loved the pirate ship and tree house! It was easy and fun to kayak to the beach. We were walking distance from a great ice cream shop and a couple of awesome restaurants. Thank you Garrett and Nina for a great place to stay!

Of Days Gone By

This is a very special, very quaint, and well cared for property on Eastern Lake - nestled within a canopy of native Florida Scrub Oak w/twinkling lights at night. We loved all of its special features from the trail leading up to the door, to the brick patio w/patio swing, a deck for grilling/dining or enjoying a view of the lake and ocean to the pirate ship complete with an upper lookout tower! We enjoyed walks to the beach and kayaking. The town is upscale (great real estate) w/many restaurants, shopping, fresh seafood shops, and grocery stores. We would recommend not visiting during spring break b/c the town is so busy, but that's our preference. We were very thankful to have such a wonderful retreat to dine & entertain family/friends in this spacious, private, and very comfortable home and property. The outdoor living space was enchanting! Highly recommend! Oh, and the owners are very responsive with outstanding communication.
