1. Casa Moinho by Olala Homes

Santiago do Cacém

"Beautiful and comfortable home. The listing was a little incomplete so it was unclear exactly what we were getting but pleasantly surprised. One very confusing experience is they never mentioned an actual couple lives on-site and are the hosts. They came by when we got there and were very kind and accommodating. It just would have been helpful to know they would be there. The listing said it was entirely self check-in. "

Top Santiago do Cacém Hotel Reviews

Quinta da Comporta Wellness Boutique Resort

8/10 Good

"We enjoyed our stay, Nice quiet place. Enjoyed the layout of our townhouse room. Can walk to a few restaurants and shops out with hotel. Just lacked staff attention to detail for this rate/standard of hotel. I would expect better service. You would ask the staff a question about restaurant/spa/activities etc and you would get a one worded answer and the impression of don’t ask me anymore questions. It always seemed to be so difficult to get help/assistance on the smallest of things. The room had a few faulty issues: toilet leaked, dishwasher kept falling forward, bedside wobbly, bed creaked. It’s just not the standard I would expect for this class of hotel. We enjoyed our stay as we were on our baby moon and also celebrating a birthday so we made it special ourselves. But there is definitely room for improvements at this hotel."

Sublime Comporta Country Retreat & SPA

10/10 Excellent

"This is a beautiful resort that resets the mind and body. The room is spectacular with heated bathroom tiles and amenities. The food is very good with a variety of choices. The spa is very relaxing and you can stay by the pool and enjoy the atmosphere. The pool area is clean and you can enjoy the poolside bar and restaurant. There is a shuttle to the beach club that offers full service chairs, umbrella and food. It is a lovely resort."

Amarello Hotel Praia Santo Andre, Tapestry Collection Hilton

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely, stylish hotel in beautiful, peaceful location. Generous breakfast and good- quality evening dining available, though there are also a handful of cafe/bar/restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. Staff without exception friendly and helpful, with good English. Very relaxing atmosphere. Anyone interested in birds, nature and ecology will love the lagoon reserve, with its varied habitats, and if you’re willing to walk a little, you can find huge stretches of glorious beach all to yourself - though beware the Atlantic swells if it’s windy. Half an hour’s scenic drive takes you down the coast to pretty Porto Covo with its cliffs, coves, cafes and gift shops, whilst beautiful Évora is a couple of hours away and makes a lovely change for a day out. Or just chill on the hotel’s rooftop pool/bar terrace and wander down to the beach if you want to stretch your legs. The lagoon is shallow, with no waves, so good for wallowing or splashing about with small people. There’s a lifeguard on the Atlantic side and warning flags to indicate swimming conditions. We loved it all…"

"It is difficult to add much to all the other reviews, other than to say that they are absolutely right - this really is an idyllic place. The setting is wonderful, surrounded by beautiful Alentejo countryside, with amazing views and a sense of peace and tranquillity that is very special. The cottage itself is full of character, beautifully decorated with a very rustic feel. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet Cercal is close enough for shops, restaurants and anything else you might need, and there are some fantastic beaches within easy reach. We cannot speak highly enough of António. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit. The bottle of delicious Alentejo red wine waiting for us when we arrived was a lovely touch - as was the bowl of freshly hand-picked figs he gave us when we left! And a special mention for the outdoor shower - absolutely perfect after a hot day at the beach. We genuinely loved our stay here. A beautiful, peaceful and very special place that we would recommend without hesitation - and can't wait to return to."
