We had a wonderful stay! Great location as well as its on a street where you can just walk straight down for as little as 15 to 20 minutes and get to some great restaurants and sights! We hope to stay here again one day!

Lovely hotel.

Matilda’s is a wonderful hotel

I had a fine stay at Matilda’s, which is a well executed redo of a 1912 mansion. Bathrooms are nice, beds are comfortable, and the breakfast excellent.

Loved it!

Matilda's was great! They were incredibly accomodating, letting us store our luggage prior to check-in. The breakfast was great. We loved eating and having our welcome drinks in the courtyard. We weren't there for long but enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful!!

Awesome hotel, near to airport. The neighborhood is okay, but the hotel itself is lovely and set in an old building from 1912. Very comfortable room, and amazing service. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Matildas is a lovely gated property in the center of Santiago. The hosts and staff are friendly and helpful. There are excellent dining options very close by and the metro is convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is an excellent small hotel. Beautifully maintained with high ceilings, beautiful stair banisters and nice garden. Very helpful and friendly staff. I would highly recommend. Felt safe. Not to much to see in the immediate area but overall an excellent experience

Very helpful staff. Be careful at the airport. We were scammed as we thought the taxi driver was the driver arranged by the hotel. If you are not sure call the hotel before getting in the taxi.

A Jewel in Downtown Santiago

The staff is very professional, proactive, and friendly. I am coming back. They also provided recommendations on things to do during a Santiago sojourn and dinning recommendations that were solid. Our group enjoyed the backyard patio; it felt as though we were miles away from Santiago. A little wine there too and we felt right at home. Last, they were amazing helping make arrangements to the airport. Thank you Lily!

I had just experienced a significant loss of a family member and I needed a place to relax. Every single staff member was so kind!!!!. If you are looking for an authentic experience that is close to important parts of Santiago you will be happy here. The neighborhood has many things to offer, don’t be discouraged by others saying bario Brasil is a little dangerous. I have been to many cities in South America and Santiago felt safe the entire time.

This is an extraordinary place to stay in Santiago. It’s a beautiful and architecturally significant 1912 house that dates from the classic period of the unpretentious but grand Barrio Brasil. The property has three quite tall stories (there is no elevator) but is not too wide, and the overall effect for the guest is of residing in a surprisingly intimate home. My third story room had a fine wooden floor, a very high ceiling with impressive decorative flourishes, and handsome shutters that opened out onto a view of slightly busy Agustinas street and to a view to the south and southeast and the mountains. There was a bit of street noise from passing cars (nothing that bothered me) so some guests might prefer a room facing the pleasant back garden. The bed was very comfortable. My favorite public room in the hotel was the library, a cozy space with big windows facing the garden. I benefited from two good books about Valparaiso there. Barrio Brasil was always interesting, lively but laid-back, with rich street art and only a modest number of tourists, and with the Alberto Hurtado University only a few blocks from Matildas contributing to the neighborhood’s vibe. And as others have said, the people at Matildas are wonderful - tremendously kind, full of intelligent conversation and good humor as well as great advice. Please be kind in return if you stay here.
