La Casona Dorada is a very good hotel, if you’re looking for conform and friendly accommodation. It is located in the center of Santo Domingo and you can go anywhere where from the hotel. The valet parking is free and excellent. The breakfast is included and is good. The rooms are good and clean. Now if you looking for a cold and big 5 start hotel? This is not the one for you. I like it, because the staff is warm and welcoming. They are ready to help in any situation you have. The hotel furniture, doors and closet needs a removal. Bud at the same time, it gives me the a old Dominican house, which is what makes La Casona Dorada very special.

This hotel is very conveniently located in town. It is one street behind the expensive frenchis hotels of Crown Plaza and the likes. Easy walking distance to nice local restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff and quiet. No traffic noise, but still central. An Uber from the airport sets you back about 20 USD. It takes about 40 minutes, but can be more at peak times, as you have to cross the bridge over the river. It is a local hotel of very good standards. It has a bit of aging charme and is therefore very competitive priced. Very good for short and longer stays. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We always stay a night here in Santo Domingo before we start out adventure in DR. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Maria from the bar is a pleasure. The breakfast was good. Our 4th time here.

“Excellent service across the board. Héctor and María at the bar stood out with their professionalism and great energy, making every visit enjoyable. EVERYTHING IS OUTSTANDING AS FAR AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE RATHER LARGE ROOMS IN COMPARISON TO OTHER HOTELS YOU MAY BE USED TO ABROAD. THE GYM HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN IT FOR ALL MANNER OF EXERCISES. LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE THERE'S STILL SOME WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN CERTAIN AREAS LIKE SOME OF THE TIMES THEY HAVE TO COME AND DEAL WITH THE TUBS AND STUFF LIKE THAT YOU KNOW GIVEN HOW PEOPLE TREAT TRAVELING SOME OF THE TIMES BUT YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE MAINTENANCE CREW IN ACTION AND THEY ARE QUICK TO FIX STUFF THAT GOES WRONG WHEN YOU LET THE RECEPTION AREA KNOW.
