Their hospitality to share their home with us was such a nice change of pace from staying at hotels in Terceira and Sao Miguel. They gave us a nice tour of their farm and animals. "Our family of 4 stayed four nights in this beautiful home high above the north shore of Pico, about 5 minutes east of Sao Roque center. Everything worked fine and the house is exactly as advertised. Here are some pro tips -- the house has concrete floors so prepare for a little extra humidity and bring slippers or house socks. There is extra EVERYTHING in the house, it is the most well equipped VRBO we have ever stayed in. There are 2 space heaters and one dehumidifier unit. The dehumidifier...

"Historical Portuguese lava stone building that has been completely modernized with all amenities without losing it's traditional charm. Quiet location in close proximity to natural lava pools. Hosts were wonderful to work and communicate with. When there was an issue with the plumbing it was resolved immediately. We were able to gain an appreciation for Portuguese culture. Local store nearby. A car is essential. Restful and relaxing. Great home base when touring the island."
