The location was incredibly convenient, with plenty of attractions and food spots nearby, including the famous Ramen Alley and Tanukikoji Street (shops, eateries, etc). Downtown Sapporo, Odori Park, Sapporo TV Tower, and Sapporo Clock Tower were all within reasonable reach.
The main frustration was check-in: the tablet repeatedly showed my reservation as “not found” and needed several refreshes before I could check in. I called the customer service number displayed on the tablet, but they hung up while I was trying to ask whether English assistance was available.
In the family suite, you need to activate the hot water using the bathroom control panel; clearer instructions would help. It was also unclear whether the bathroom doubled as a clothes dryer.
Checkout was unusual but quick: write your departure time beside your room number on a laminated sheet using the provided dry-erase marker. Sheet is located directly in front of the check-in tablet. Marker is mixed in with the pens next to the tablet.
Don’t be surprised by the accommodation-tax envelope in your room. Staff calculate the amount owed and write it directly on the envelope, along with your room number. The accompanying sheet explains the tax and how to pay. Put the payment in the envelope and leave it in your room. I recommend taking care of this early rather than waiting until checkout. No room key, you get a key code for your room
Aside from those issues, I had no other complaints.
