A magical month to celebrate our 50th anniversary
We were equally impressed by the physical attributes of the property as the VRBO’s picture’s portrayed.. Annie was a knowledgeable host who gave us suggestions of what to visit, what restaurants to frequent and where to shop. The property was well cared for and lived up to our expectations. The rural setting provided us with a peaceful haven but close enough to easily make day trips to impressive sites - Sarlat, Lascaux, Bergerac to explore life today as well as the archeological history of the area.

Perfect stay
Exactly what was needed for a relaxing holiday. The property is located 5 minutes away from the lovely town of Sarlat la Caneda. On arrival we were met by Christine who showed us around the beautiful property. She didn't speak English and our French was very basic but that did not prove an issue at all. The property has everything you need with the added intrigue of having a Templar history (try and find the secret passage. We couldn't but we did find the sun dial and Templar tattoo). Being attached to the bedrock of the church, the temperature was perfect even in the 40C heat. Both bedrooms have air conditioning too. Annie the host was perfect. Lots of advice of where to go, where to eat (all the best boulangeries) and gave us the full history of the house. No question was unanswered and you know she loves the area. The location was perfect, caves, chateaux, the Dordogne all within 30 minutes. (We didn't meet the resident owl but were definitely aware it was present :) I have no hesitation in recommending this property

Relaxed stay in a beautiful and unique accommodation
Just as we thought it would be. A beautifully renovated property with much history attached. A comfortable stay in the property and an ideal base for exploring the Dordogne.

Wunderbar!
Das grosszügige Haus, die sehr ruhige Lage und die Nähe zu den historischen und prähistorischen Stätten lässt einen den Alltag vergessen. Wir haben uns in den alten Mauern, die überaus geschmackvoll restauriert wurden, sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Umgebung lädt auch zum Fahrradfahren ein, die Dordogne und die Vézère begleiteten uns zu vielen mittelalterlichen Städtchen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

La maison d’Annie est très agréable, a beaucoup de charme et dispose de tout le confort: climatisation, de bons lits, une cuisine bien équipée et un jardin idéal pour préparer un barbecue ou se détendre.

Très belle découverte du Périgord Noir
Belle location, idéalement située pour découvrir le périgord noir, a maximum 20 minutes de route de tous les lieux touristiques d'intérêt. La maison est parfaite pour deux couples et notre chien a beaucoup aimé le jardin. Tout le confort et très agréable à vivre. L'accueil était parfait et la propriétaire au petit soin pour nous. Bref, un endroit idéal pour découvrir la région, je recommande chalereusement.

Cette maison atypique est magnifique et si bien restaurée… l’extérieur est tout aussi agréable et reposant. L’emplacement est idéal pour découvrir le Périgord noir et ses plus beaux villages. Et enfin, Annie est toujours disponible pour toutes questions ou informations avec sympathie, bonne humeur et bienveillance… A réserver les yeux fermés !

Petit havre de repos dans une petite maison historique
Une très belle région dont 15 jours ne sont pas suffisants, à goûter au bonheur gustatif ainsi qu'aux différents choix de visites entre caves, parcs, grottes, et châteaux, ou le plaisir du fleuve en canoé, survol en avion ou ballon au choix. Il vous reste les soirées "gastros" ou les marchés dans les beaux petits villages. Pour enfin trouver repos dans la belle demeure en pierre et bois, au charme authentique et incroyablement bien située, oser les petites routes des environs raccourcis et surprises au rendez vous
