We chose this property for its location to visit all the places we had on our list in the Perigord. It was close to Sarlat without the issues of parking and congestion - just perfect for us. The property was well appointed and the host very helpful both in getting us started and reviewing our proposed itinerary. A wonderful experience that we would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.

A truly delightful house in a perfect location

Mélanie greeted us with a warm welcome and guided us through the house, making us feel very at home. Everything is catered for from the well-equipped kitchen, swimming pool, table, tennis and very comfortable lounge with an excellent television system. Even in the 35° temperatures, the shaded parts of the patio were very comfortable. It was the icing on the cake for our holiday in Sarlat.

A beautiful spot in the Dordogne region.

We (2-couples) had a lovely time staying at the house. It’s an older villa with a nice pool that we enjoyed all the 6- days we were there. The kitchen looks big but is quite small as a work space but we managed fine and made most of our meals there. We really wished there were screens on the windows and doors (which are not really a “thing” in France) because the mosquitoes and other critters came in during the evenings and were unfortunately an overall pain in the butt all over the south of France. It was quite hot while we were there so not being able to have the windows open made sleeping a challenge. I would recommend more fans and/or real A/C in the whole house if that’s possible. Sarlat has amazing markets twice a week so we had plenty of lovely things to eat and buy! The roads are very narrow so it’s hard to walk anywhere but we loved being away from the fray so it was perfect for us.

A tranquil house typical of the region.

We loved the position of the house which is about a mile out of Sarlat so is very tranquil and in a lovely garden. The owners live not far away and are very kind and friendly and speak good English (if needs be). It has a beautiful pool and we were able to enjoy a swim morning and evening. There is a huge amount to visit in the area, chateaux abound in great numbers, and there is caves and troglodyte dwelling to explore as well. Sarlat is a very good centre with lots of nice restaurants. It is a very busy town although we did go there on a public holiday. Had a lovely holiday and hope to return.

Fantastic Holiday in Sarlat, Dordogne

We loved staying in this house. It is a beautiful property with everything needed to enjoy a great holiday. Frederic and Melanie were excellent hosts and very friendly, responsive and communicative. We had a warm welcome, including a bottle of wine and guided tour of the house.The area around Sarlat has so much to do and we enjoyed canoeing down the River Dordogne, visiting the caves at Padirac, two Chateaus, many markets and all in fantastic weather.

Beautiful villa on the outskirts of Sarlat. Would recommend for families, car essential to get to Sarlat but only 5 minutes to shops.

Private oasis in great base for visiting Perigord

Wonderful secluded garden with mature trees and birdlife , swimming pool and a great terrace. Terrific place to relax after some sightseeing in the area. House is well equipped and comfortable. Lack of airconditioning in all the bedrooms(there is AC upstairs) might be an issue in July/August but stone building and shutters helps keep cool. and this was not an issue for us even in hot weather. Great base for exploring this beautiful region without too much driving. So much history and prehistory within a short distance. Marvellous experience for us to visit 5 different caves with original prehistoric paintings/engravings (there are more) as well as Lascaux 4 and the terrific museum in Les Eyzies. Sarlat is a lovely historic town with plenty of restaurants, shops, and a great Saturday market. One word of warning--while house is near Sarlat, given steepness and narrow roads without paths its not really feasible to walk in and out particularly in evening so need a car. Mélanie and Frédéric are very welcoming and friendly hosts, We enjoyed our stay. Merci.

Great escape in Sarlat for family of 5

We were warmly welcomed by Mélanie on arrival. Her English surpassed our limited French. She showed us the home and was available whenever we had questions during our stay. Home - house was charming and exactly the experience we were seeking for the area. Teens enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms; AC was available.Living room furniture was comfortable.Kitchen was well stocked with some food supplies, equipment for cooking and dining dishes. We enjoyed our evening dinners on the patio and opened the welcoming bottle of wine on our first evening. Shutters on the windows and doors helped to regulate the solar heat and we were never too hot inside during the day. Beds were comfortable. Lots of linens and towels were supplied, incl for the pool. We were able to use the clothes washing machine and the outdoor line, although there was a dryer available. There were activity travel brochure for the area and appliance info for the house. No detail was forgotten.Location - The house was well located for visiting nearby villages and it was a short drive into town for groceries. The best part of driving home was the anticipation of cooling off in the pool, as temps were in the 30s during our stay. Gates at the road kept out noise from occasional cars so we had a lot of privacy.Of all the places we rented, we unanimously voted it our fave of this trip. We enjoyed our slice of heaven in Sarlat and would definitely stay here again.Merci beaucoup, Mélanie & Frédéric!

Prettig verblijf net buiten de drukte

Schitterende omgeving wat vermoedelijk verklaart waarom het stadje ontzettend druk is. Het fijne huis met (kleiner dan verwacht/aangegeven) zwembad ligt op 5 minuten van deze drukte en toch voelt het als verder weg. Eigenaren vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Met ons vieren hebben we het 2 weken lekker gehad.

Vacances au top !

Idéalement située sur les hauteurs, cette magnifique demeure permet de se retrouver au calme au milieu d'un très grand jardin entretenu, agrémenté d'une superbe piscine qui fait le bonheur des petits et des grands ! La maison est très bien équipée, mais nous n'y avons pas trouver les "fameuses blattes et insectes" ;-) ... Accueil très sympathique !! Mélanie et Fred sont des hôtes disponibles, généreux et joignables à tout moment ! Nous recommandons totalement !!!!
