"This rating mostly reflects the inaccurate or incomplete information provided on the VRBO listing. The place is very difficult and unusual to locate, especially in the dark. Check in instructions lacked clarity and failed to note many important things: - The exterior of the building is not lit, making it nearly impossible to see signage- the remote control for parking confusingly opens and operates two different parking barriers for two completely separate parking areas. Despite this, it is...

"We were a family of 6, on our way to Toulouse from Vall dâAran. It was a convenient stop on our trip. The place is an old chateau. We were staying on the 2nd floor. Be aware that there is no elevator, so you will have to carry your lugagge upstairs by yourself. The place definetly needs a renovation but the old decor has its charm even if it can get a bit spooky. There are gardens around the property as well as a pool and hot tub. We did not use those last two, but were told that there was a fee...

"There is no a/c. We double checked the listing and it says a/c - but that is not accurate. It cools down overnight with the lower temps, but quickly heats up during the warmer days and you have to keep the shutters closed to keep it cool. Furniture - oh my. Way too large and clunky and shrinks the space. And the white couch (just get rid of it) that is so old it sheds the fake leather. This âcouch dandruffâ as we called it will follow you everywhere you go. It gets on your clothes and in your...

"Good value hotel. I liked being able to control heatng in my room; presence of a lift (albeit very small), especially as the staurcase was soiral and narrow; effective double glazing; reasonably priced breakfast; close to main avenue and cable car.
Negative points: it was a bit of a trek from the SNCF station (20 minute walk); no shower holder so had to kneel down in bath and hold with one hand."
"Elevator didnât work to my first floor. Had to use a smelly and dirty stairway during the whole stay. 5pm check in time is really something that puts me in a bad mood right away !!"
"I think cleaners forgotten to clean up and change towels for the room given. But owner at reception was very kind and helpful and spoke very good English. Place is nice with good scenery and nice amenities "
"Staff lovely could not do enough for you very clean hotel food was good not a huge choice but good quality drink's very good and cheap ÂŁ4.86 for 2 large san Miguel on draft spa very good gym looked good outside excellent little local bar also very cheap and packed in evenings room was very clean but smelly slightly of damp but great size for triple room 2 beds and two excellent bathrooms and if facing side street very close to opposite balconyâs noisy youngsters at 5am not hotels fault I would recommend and stay here again opt for pool view "
"Excellent setting - stunning views all around the apartments! Lovely big spacious 2 bedroom apartment - only downside was no air con during a heatwave! Had to ask to borrow 2 fans which didnât really do much. Couldnât leave the windows opened as we tried one night and got bitten to death by mosquitos!! Was unbearably hot but understand the apartments were built for the snow season! Otherwise, excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting. "
"One of the worst travel experiences we've ever had - completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
By looking at other people's reviews, it appears that we are not the only travelers to have our booking cancelled by Hotel Vacanceole without notice. Concerned by an email we received, we called our travel agent twice to confirm that our booking was still valid - and were reassured both times that the Hotel said the room was still available.
After reaching the hotel, we arrived only to find out our room had been given away. No notice, no explanation, and no effort to make things right. There is no person attending the âreception deskâ â this is not a hotel.
To make matters worse, when we tried to call the companyâs central reservations line, they said that they "donât speak Englishâ and hung up on us. Unacceptable behavior from any hospitality provider, let alone in the tourism industry.
This experience was not only a major disruption to our trip, but also a glaring example of how not to treat guests. We strongly advise others to think twice before booking with this property or company.
There are better options for real hotels directly across the street."
"The hotel is located on a side road in a modest size village. Very little traffic passes so it's not likely to attract passing trade but does mean it's very quiet with no vehicle noise in the rooms. The staff speak good English so communication isn't a problem. The room has a balcony with views of the mountains in the distance. Breakfast costs extra but is of high quality. The only issue is the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty but the shower gel provided an alternative."
