The adjacent formal dining room features a table with seating for four plus tufted armchairs, a decorative fireplace and built-in shelving filled with books. Your Vacations Homes Savannah Itinerary
All of our Savannah vacation rentals are located near dozens of things to see and do, so you will not have any unwanted gaps in your itinerary. Isaac LaRoche House is just a block from Pulaski Square, a lovely green space that is one of 22 squares within the Historic District. It is a great place to enjoy the cool of the evening or a brisk morning constitutional.
Forsyth Park is a bit farther afield, but just a quick jaunt via the free shuttle bus that runs throughout the Historic District. The largest greenspace in town, Forsyth Park is a mecca for those who love the outdoors, offering plenty of walking paths, fragrant gardens, play areas for the kids, monuments and the pièce de résistance, a wonderful Parisian fountain. You will find photo ops galore, so bring along your camera. You can drop by the Forsyth Park Café for lunch, pack a picnic, or sample one of the other casual restaurants nearby.
Savannah is a city that caters to its visitors, and guided tours designed for guests in vacations homes Savannah cover territory ranging from haunted places to modern art. The Colonial Park Cemetery, located at the center of the Historic District, dates to the mid-1700s and is the site of many a mythical haunting. Burton Gwinnet, who signed the Declaration of Independence, is among a host of historical figures buried there. The cemetery is also the final resting place for hundreds who succumbed to yellow fever during the early 19th-century epidemic.
If you are a Civil War buff, you should visit the Laurel Grove Cemetery where 1500 soldiers and generals are buried. It is also the oldest African-American cemetery still in use in the U.S. and a stop on the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum tour. The city's other historic burial ground, Bonaventure Cemetery, features in the novel "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and was once the site of a plantation. Poet Conrad Aiken and songwriter Johnny Mercer are two of the more recent notables buried there.
You can find a score of sterling examples of period architecture throughout the Historic District, and tours are available with guides with proprietary knowledge. One of the notable homes to see is the Pink House near Reynolds Square, a fine example of Georgian architecture that was built for James Habersham, Jr., a member of one of Savannah's founding families, in 1771. Today, the building is The Olde Pink House restaurant, so you can also enjoy a gourmet meal while you are there. You may even catch glimpse of Habersham's ghost, which reportedly wanders the mansion.
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist near LaFayette Square offers visitors on Savannah GA vacations a prime example of Victorian gothic architecture. First opened in 1799, the cathedral is a marvel of ornate arches and spires that tower over the city. Temple Mickve Israel is also a beautiful triumph of gothic design that is adjacent to Monterey Square. It dates to 1878.

What a lovely home located right by Pulaski Square. We were able to walk all around the historic district and enjoyed the quiet, park like, residential feel of the homes location. Parking was available right outside the home also.
We are long time college friends who met for a weekend in Savannah. Our home was perfectly located for walks, coffee, access to venues, and quick in and out to the airport.
This was a great find. The location is perfect. We were able to park our car for the weekend and walk to everything. We were 2 couples and we had plenty of space. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful historic home in North Historic District
Wonderful stay. Easy communication and fast resolution with property manager when there was a minor issue with a broken appliance. Didn't use our car once we arrived. Everything is within walking distance. Comfortable beds and lovely stay!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is great for easy access to parks, restaurants and local shops and the area is quiet. The bed were very comfortable and the kitchen seems well equipped (although we didn't prepare any meals). Street parking was always available in front of the house. We have stayed at many properties in Savannah and wouldn't hesitate to stay at this one again.
We were so impressed with this charming home. LOVED the aesthetic and various historical books and resources giving us insight to the property itself as well as the city of Savannah. The location was walkable to every destination we aimed to see and would 100% come back and recommend to others! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Lovely home with lots of character. It was exactly as described. I was concerned that with 100 degree days and a request that the thermostat not go below 70 that we would be uncomfortable. We kept it at 70 and it was perfect, even chilly at night. Everything was spotless. The beds were comfortable. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be that only one bedroom had room darkening curtains, the other room was full light at 6am. It was too bright to sleep in. The location was perfect. Close to everything and steps away from the best coffee shop in town. We also enjoyed the private pool on Tybee island. Would definately stay again.
My daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was our first time in Savannah and we loved this place. It was easy walking to everything we wanted to see. The apartment was also very clean and had beautifully updated kitchen and bathrooms. I highly recommend it!!
This property was excellent. As presented in pictures. Very conveniently located. Short walk to everything. Always found convenient parking on the street. Would definitely book again.
Gorgeous and aD advertised. Rental agents easy to work with, quick and clear communication. Checked-in with us via text message on our evening of arrival.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is in walking distance to restaurants. The home is as pictured on the site. I would not recommend for anyone who has problems climbing stairs, but that was not our issue. Beautiful home and great communication with rental company. It was our first visit to Savannah, but definitely not our last. We would not hesitate to stay at this property again.
We had a truly fabulous experience at the Isaac LaRoche house. The property was immaculate and just like the photos; tastefully decorated in historic-meets-modern style, perfectly matching with the tone of beautiful historic Savannah. The owners, Tom and Susan, were a true delight to chat with, sharing great recommendations and good conversation. The location here truly can’t be beat; walkable to everything that the historic district has to offer. We hope to be back again soon!
We had an excellent experience with Southern Belle Vacation Rentals - the emails leading up to check in were detailed and thorough so that we had no questions or issues. The house is not only gorgeous and historic as we wanted, but you get modern amenities such as fabulous beds/pillows, TVs in the bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. The extra details we didn’t realize we were getting such as a back porch and garden area made it even more perfect! Being equal walking distance between Forsyth Park and River Street was wonderful, and having Savannah Coffee Roasters right around the corner made each mornings walk wonderful!

Reviewer Comments:
I would be understating our Savannah experience at the Isaac LaRoche Main House if I said it was amazing! It was truly incredible! The owners have spared no expense in making this a premium property. The mix of modern and historical was tasteful and inviting. Beautifully kept. Location, location, location. I didn't realize when I booked how central this location really was. Right off Pulaski Sq was ideal for restaurants, boutiques and tours and just far enough from the craziness of River Street. The owners were extremely friendly and freely offered restaurants/shop suggestions along with local history. When you're there don't miss eating at the Crystal Beer Parlor, Collins Quarter and The Olde Pink House. We'll be coming back to Savannah and definitely staying at the LaRoche House Main. I can't say enough good things about it.
The home was beautiful. We enjoyed all the details throughout the home and it was spacious, as we were two couples ranging from mid 30s to early 40s.
The only issues we had were (1) the dryer did not work well. On our last day we decided to do some laundry. It took 3 hrs to dry a minimal amount of clothes. We had to use the hair dryer and iron to quickly finish drying clothes we needed immediately for an outdoor outing we had scheduled. It stressed us out in the moment but it all worked out.
(2) the window frame in the bedroom that faces the back courtyard had a small hole all the way through to the exterior. Our friends were staying in that room and noticed it on our last night, which happened to be the coldest night of our stay with temps in the 30s. They only inspected the window because the room was incredibly cold. They layered on another blanket and were fine.
Other than those two things, everything else was wonderful. It is an old home but kept beautifully. The location was perfect! We walked nearly everywhere we went. Wish we could have taken advantage of the courtyard area but we didn't have time and when we did the weather was not on our side! The beds were really comfortable! The kitchen table was our hangout spot! After our long days out and about we retreated back to the house and played with the UNO cards and we worked a little everyday to put one of the 500 pieces puzzles together.
We would definitely stay at this property again! Even with those two little hiccups on our final night, we loved it!
House was located great location.
Near coffee houses, restaurants etc
And very clean.
Many small issue in the house ( coffee maker, garbage bin, key box etc)
Over all it is a great house to stay in.
We parked our car on the street for a week.
We didn’t have any problems.
You just have to remember it!!!!

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at this property, which suited our family of 4 very well. The home is beautifully appointed, ideal location, easy to walk to nearby activities, on a quiet square. The design and decor of the house really reflected the old world charm and sophistication this town. We would love to stay here again on our next stay in Savannah.
It was such a blessing to have stayed in this lovely townhome while we dealt with my Mom's recent passing. Due to the uncertainty of the circumstances, we had to extend our stay a couple of times . We were accommodated with helpful, caring understanding and timely responses. All our needs were met wonderfully, from the extremely comfortable beds to the tastefully decorated rooms....We can't say enough great things about this property! The home is perfectly located to all that downtown Savannah has to offer. Doesn't get much better than staying on one of the beautiful squares either. Walking to Savannah Coffee Roasters in the morning and picking up food right down the street from the Crystal Beer parlor was also quite a treat for us during our extended stay. Oh, and we even found the back porch to be a great place for enjoying coffee and wine. We definitely plan on renting this property again for our return trip back to Savannah.
There is no off street parking. The visitor center was helpful. Parking is not cheap.
Beautiful city.

Lovely rental, centrally located, in Savannah.
The Laroche House lived up to the description in its listing. The owners, who lived next door, were friendly, very helpful, and unobtrusive. The Southern Belle offices were a very short walk away and the management was on top of things. The House was in character with the city itself, gracious living simulating a long and rich history. It was clean, nicely laid out and easy to settle into. Since we decided not to rent a car, we were delighted to find several nearby restaurants close by, The Savannah Coffee Roasters, the Public Kitchen and Bar (shrimp and grits to die for), the Crystal Beer Parlor, and a longer walk to the Six Pence Pub, and many more fine dining spots at reasonable prices! The various large squares graced with towering live oaks, camellias and magnolias were more than pleasant oases. We appreciated the DOT, a free bus system that could drop you off within a short walking distance of anywhere you wanted to go in the city. The one glitch in the city's layout was that to shop at the large Kroger's Grocery, one needed a car. Not that we minded eating out! Various tours acquainted us with the city, along with a boat tour on the river. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The Mercer House and the Bonaventure Cemetery were highlights. In short, Savannah is a very special gem of a city. The Laroche house turned out to be perfectly placed as a base to enjoy it all.

Stayed here with my husband and 2 kids. The location was perfect. We spent 2 days at the beach and 1 day walking around town. Tybee is just about 30 minutes away by car. It was wonderful to be beach bums during the day, and explore the city by night. We loved the puzzles that came with the house. We had all the amenities we needed.
