Local dining at the Hideout Bar excellent food and breakfast just a 5 min walk away . Good for the open air theatre cricket club and peasholme park . "After reading some bad reviews I was a little sceptical about here but to my delight I was very happy n amazed at the lodge we stayed in very clean had everything needed. The staff was very welcoming and happy to help in anyway. The toilets - well i walked in said "wow" best toilets iv seen anywhere. All in all this site is n was a good choice n I will be going bk..thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay x"

"Lovely hotel and staff were first class. I would rate a 5*, but for two things: -No air conditioning in the bedrooms in the main hotel. I believe this is planned at some stage. - we had the snug room on the top floor. Lovely room and big bathroom. But it had 4 velux windows and so no view. Not a major problem as we only stayed for a short 2 night break. However the real problem was at night, when heavy rain made us feel we were in a drum. So sleep deprived both nights. It is worth paying a bit more for a room on the first or second floors. Martin Hill"

"Hotel was clean and central location. Only problem we had was the time it took to check in. The queue was MASSIVE and snaked all around the foyer. Other customers were telling us it took them over an hour to get checked in so we went away and came back two hours later. Other than that it was fine."

"Room was very outdated and small, window was next to a brick wall. But clean, new bathroom, comfortable bed. Good restaurant and bar, but absolute chaos at breakfast due to sheer numbers, but staff were present and helpful maintaining supplies. Parking in surrounding area was easy and cheap. A proper old-fashioned seaside hotel but with modern facilities - excellent value for money."

"I had not realised the hotel rooms are in a separate building to the pub and breakfast area. As a single older woman had I realised this I would not have stayed here as I felt a little bit isolated as should I have had an issue (which thankfully I did not) it felt like there were no staff around once the pub was closed. The room was fine had everything required for one nights stay and was clean and spacious but a lot like many of the budget chain brands. The food in the pub in the evening was ok nothing special and a bit overpriced for what it was but because of the location you are limited for choice so they can charge what they want. Only thing that was excellent was the friendliness of the staff that greet you in the pub as you have to go into the pub to check in they were very welcoming"
