The staff were really lovely and took time to show us the best bits about town, they made sure we saw the fireflies and the mechanical clock, plus great places to eat. Friendly not flashy."

"It was nice to get away from the tourist areas for a time. Might be a challenge for non-English speakers but the staff was super-friendly and the outdoor onsen with a view of the ocean is worth it. Not really near anything but the staff drove us to a restaurant and we took a cab back. We visited Himeji before we arrived but didn't want to stay anyplace there so used a locker and then stayed the night in Ako. "Near Himeji station about 6min walk. Clean and well maintained, bed slighthy firm but that doesn't bother me. You can get the amenities on 2nd floor where the lobby located. Decent size of the room as long you don't carry large luggage. There's laundry/dryer machine but only 3 available which is quite busy but you can monitor from the tv on your room. Overall is great hotel to stay."
