"Parking is terrible and really small spots. The room was quite dated and run down, esp for the price. There was a huge hole in the bathroom door and the person at the front desk accused us of making it but we took pictures of the room during check in and showed them right away. They seemed surprised. "I booked a two-night stay at Pine Inn during my daughter’s spring break. We’re local. Our room was ready earlier than the official check-in time, and it was clean and matched what was shown on the website and in traveler photos. Parking is located across the street and is first-come, first-served, with one EV charging spot available. Unfortunately, the stay was far from restful. After returning from dinner, we experienced constant loud door slamming (the doors seem to auto-shut), along with banging and noise from surrounding rooms that continued until midnight. The most frustrating part was the next morning. We were woken up around 7:00 AM by loud work noises right outside our room. This was extremely disruptive and not something we expected. When I called the front desk, they seemed unaware and told me work was supposed to begin at 9:00 AM on the roof. However, when we left the room, we saw workers removing carpet from the stairs—not working on the roof as stated. I reported the issue again at checkout and was told other guests had complained as well. The response felt dismissive, as if there was nothing they could do. To the hotel: please inform guests in advance about any planned maintenance or early-morning work so they can plan accordingly. Guests should not have to adjust their stay around unexpected construction noise—especially when they come to Carmel for a quiet, relaxing experience."

Walking distance to all restaurants, shops, and beach (if you want to walk the hill) The bar brought some extra midnight noise but if you don’t mind that, and are a hard sleeper, or in a room not next to it, you’re probably fine. Parking is tight "

"Customer service is impeccable. Our hostess took us to our cottage and was so pleasant and nice. This property is so close to main shopping district a the ocean. It is quiet. I wish they would serve pastries in the am. "
