"It was my wife’s 72nd birthday celebration so we spent Saturday night at the Strand Palace. The whole weekend was wonderful especially because the hotel presented my wife with a birthday card, chocolates a balloon in the shape of “72” and other freebies. The staff and the service in general was excellent. We had a drink on the house in the bar… I felt the hotel went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend."

"Bed was very comfy in the pod and I felt very safe. The toilet facilities were close by and a good size with all the facilities required. I thought at first (on seeing the pod from the outside) that I would find it claustrophobic inside it but I didn’t - once inside I felt I had sufficient room and felt totally fine. The only negative would be that because the pods were so close to each other/on top of each other you can hear your neighbour coming and going and I could hear the person above me snoring. Saying that though, it’s so worth it for the cost (good value) location (so central) and the facilities."

"Clean, comfortable and cute restaurant on the roof. However in the morning we had to leave before the breakfast so we did not order it, and they had coffee ready but would not allow you to have any. Why not? It is not an inexpensive service to raise your service rankings. It was there, and ready but the guy at the door was so rude that even the girl at desk was staring in shock. She went and got us a black coffee after that. Very sweet of her."

"This hotel offers an excellent location near major attractions and features incredibly friendly, helpful staff, including a great concierge team. However, the early check-in process was highly frustrating after a long 14-hour flight. Despite paying and being approved for an early arrival at £20 per hour to freshen up, the room was not ready when arriving at noon and would not be available until the standard 3:00 PM check-in time. While the hotel did refund the £60 fee we paid, the breakdown in communication forced a long wait and required checking luggage rather than settling in as planned."
