This hotel was intimate and charming! Wonderful staff and delicious whiskey by the fire, along with a gorgeous view of the loch and fantastic breakfast. It was so relaxing!

Emma was an amazing host. The property was clean, the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was superb with a variety of fresh fruits and muffins to go with your main dish. (Definitely say yes to the porridge!!) Be aware, the property is not near any shops or... anything at all, really. It’s a proper country house surrounded by beautiful nature (and right in front of a bus stop) so if you want to eat out or get groceries you’ll have to plan for it as the closest store is 4-5 miles away. Brae Lea is far more than one would expect. The location is a short walk to the Ferry Terminal at Lochboisdale - yet driving from the north, you feel as if you’re nestled in the foothills of a mountain (because you are). Rupert is an outstanding host, and he doubles as a 5-Star concierge. He helped us sort travel and touring arrangements as well as made breakfast and suggested dinner options. Wayne was very accommodating. He greeted us on entering the driveway and offered us kickstand pucks to keep us from sinking in the gravel. He was very friendly and suggested places to go. Thank you.

We spent 3 nights at Karrawa House in mid April. The room was as described. My bed was super comfy. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptional. Would stay there again and would definitely recommend the place.

I stayed at a room in this nice house located at walking distance from the town center and the train station. Breakfast was delicious. Easy parking. Kim was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave me several useful tips. The surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful.

The manager Bryce gave us excellent recommendations for dights to see at the south end of the island and where to park on a weekend in Kirkwall. Such a unique setting and quiet.

Wonderful hotel right on the sea front in my room overlooked the water. It was beautiful, lovely decorations, great owners and staff and fabulous breakfast.

I can't say enough about the Sugar Boat....check in, personnel, food.. all incredible. The location is perfect..right in the middle of a pedestrian square. Every single interaction we had with the staff couldn't have been more positive. Wonderful experience!

The Links Hotel is beautiful, well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the newer building and when we walked into our room my first response was how much I loved the colors. Our room had a view of Royal Dornoch Golf Course. The bed was comfortable, the sitting area very nice and situated to the view. The huge bathroom was spacious and luxurious. We arrived to two little glass bottles of an Auld Fashioned with shortbread—yummy! There is an espresso machine and tea service outside the rooms...

Great property. It is a remote location that is a bit of a drive to get to. It would be great (imho) for stays consisting of at least several days or longer. One suggestion for the property is to add a mirror over the bathroom sink. The mirror on the opposite wall isn’t as practical. Beautiful views and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
