Driftwood Cottage is a very clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay. It is conveniently located near larger cities and has lovely beaches nearby. I recommend this place and I would love to come back again.
This cute little place was a perfect retreat for us. Amazing views from the house and deck, and the perfect little yard for our small doggo. The view took my breath away when we first walked in. Comfy bed and furniture, and close to several fun beaches.
Go for the view didn’t want to leave because of the view! Awesome spot. Easy beach access 1 block away. 12-15 mins to Newport for supplies if needed. Would recommend this to all.
This was our first trip to Oregon. The house was exactly how it is listed. We had a great time and absolutely loved the house. The fog rolling in off the ocean and just listening to the waves was relaxing.
Cottage was beautiful, sea treasures everywhere, plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. We really could have used comfortable recliners, and a tv that we could navigate without having to sign in. But having said that, the view was to die for, and we would definitely recommend it
My husband and I came for a long overdue weekend away. The house was very comfortable and clean. The only drawback was the WiFi. We do own our own business and my husband does have to sometimes get online for it, but it rarely worked. Not a huge problem. Thanks for such a nice stay!
We loved this property. It's simple and quaint, exactly as we prefer it, but with everything we needed. The deck sits 30 or 40 feet above the beach, and you could spend your entire trip out there taking it in--if you get the amazing weather we got. There is one beach that is a 5-minute walk away, and several others only a short car ride away. Newport and Waldport are close for supply runs or restaurants/breweries. Overall, exactly the relaxing place we needed for the weekend.
Thank you for all the extra touches. It was a very comfortable stay for the two of us. The weather cooperated, and the resident whale was there for a few days so the deck was perfect. We like to cook in so just thought we'd pass on our thoughts for a couple small extras if you have a list going to add as time goes by: measuring cups, colander, a pasta stirrer, kitchen towels, placemats, napkins - tho made due quite well with what was there.
Lovely and private and everything that was promised for a couple's retreat. Close to Newport and our favorite restaurant- Local Ocean. Nice quality construction, better-made than it appears in the photos. Surprise thoughtfulness of a towel-warmer already getting towels toasty! The landscaping in front is mature and tidy, so you are surrounded by beauty. Large windows with the sweeping ocean views, and lovely garden views from the kitchen window. We loved it here. Thank you!
This place is perfect for a couple wanting to get away. You can see the ocean right from the living room. There’s a nice side yard for you pup. I feel the kitchen could use some attention. The only frying pan has almost all of the non-stick surface all scratched off, and it’s far from non-stick anymore. Other than that, it was amazing. We will definitely be back. We’ll just bring our own pan :)
The cottage was nice with most of what you'd need for a few days. We could not sleep on the bed as it was soft and life a hammock. We pulled cushions off the sofa and slept on the floor which wasn't great, but we managed. Otherwise, we liked the cottage, the view, the deck, the privacy, and the bath and kitchen were very adequate for our needs. The wall heater is very loud but fortunately we didn't need to use it much. We would stay again if there was a firm bed to sleep upon. Notes to management: the kitchen sink faucet drips; the deck door in very difficult to close due to an issue with the lower jamb; some of the tiny handwritten signs put up by the owners we didn't see until just before we left; the flooring in the main room is dangerously slippery - we both almost fell down (maybe there is a wax on it?.

Central oregon coast cabin over the beach.
This two person cabin has gorgeous views from the deck and both rooms in the house. The landscape is emasculate. The cottage is cute, but aging. It needs some loving care. Doors and windows don’t close and seal. Front door lock was very difficult to use during rain (stiff, difficult to insert and turn key). Wall heaters were ancient, noisy and a fire hazard. The mattress was comfortable and new, the pillows and sheets were uncomfortable and scratchy. TV and WiFi were good.
The beach access that is “2 blocks away” is along the highway and not walkable.
The most irritating part of my stay was when I requested to check in 2 hours early and was told it would cost an extra $50 ! I have stayed at many VRBO and AB&Bs over many years and across the world. Never have I been asked to pay additional fees for this simple request. A gracious “yes” or simple no are adequate responses.
The coast was gorgeous, the cottage ok. I will not stay here again.
