"My husband and I stayed one night at the White Oak cabin on this lovely, historic property. The hospitality was wonderful, and the charcuterie tray in the room was perfect…. We loved the history and the preservation of it… As well as the modern or artistic accents. It felt a bit cramped for us, and perhaps the steep steps and super soft mattress, kept us from giving it a five star rating. One of the highlights was the walk in the woods early this morning."

"Super, super cute mid-century mod renovated cozy house, walking distance to many things in Colonial Beach. Located just off the main road, this is a great stay. Very comfortable, so beautifully decorated, and great outdoor space. The neighborhood is a little strange because it's a mix of a lot of older homes, located behind a 7-11, BUT it is just a humble area and we felt safe. "Ok, of course the place was built in 1797. The title above reflects the not the house but the interior. The beds are dressed with old linens, old mattresses and old pillows. The homeowner left 2 towels for us(2 people) to use over a 3 night visit. Overall the property was very charming, with a great setting, but if your looking for fresh, clean and plush, look elsewhere."

It wasn't just tracked in dirt, there were pieces of fiberglass insulation on the floor. We got hotel rooms for the week because we were travelling with 3 kids."
