The villa was very clean and well prepared and the host was wonderful when we had a delay in our arrival. She met us at 23.00 to give us the keys and show us around. The river beach area was only 10 min walk and is great for outdoor activities. Fab stay."

"My wife and I spent five days enjoying the quiet and beauty of the Oliveira do Hospital area. Mathew’s farm was the perfect location from which we could explore the surrounding villages, vineyards and mountains of Serra da Estrela. Mathew was the absolute perfect host. He ensured that we had everything we needed in his spacious and beautifully decorated home. We so enjoyed his company, his generosity and the great discussions over wine and cheese. 😊"

"The part of the house where we stayed was above charming. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was a pleasure to come back after a day of house hunting. Denise was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the entire area and kept us well supplied with wood for the little stove. "Patrick's house was the perfect meeting place for our international friends reunion. We loved the location of the house and how close it is to town. The minute you enter the home you are immersed into the Portuguese culture. The house was well stocked with anything you would need. The beds comfortable, many fabulous gathering places throughout the property. We loved the fruit trees and the swimming pool. This is now our go to house and hope to be back next year!"

"This house is charming and has lots to offer in warmer weather than March. Luckily the fireplace in the main living area had a blower and there were two heaters because there is no central heat. We blew the fuses several times using the heaters and hot water or cooking. Electricity is lacking and the listing says there is an oven, washing machine and two showers, this is not so. Also the stove is a two burner cooktop . BUT...besides the inaccurate amenities we enjoyed the ambiance of the house...
