"The location was beautiful and the staff was super friendly. The cottage was spacious for our family and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was pretty bare so just come prepared with all you need or just go out to eat. It’s an old house, so you hear every noise, but fans are provided."
"This was one best hotels I have stayed in . And I have spent nights in Lake Louise/Banff Fairmount hotel chain still one of favorites from Ottawa to Calgary and out east . But loved this hotel best so far the lay out over ocean. And room was amazing no breakfast but small price big balcony with patio furniture BBQ and all pots, pans, forks knifes, full size fridge and stove, microwave ect look forward to coming back ."
"Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Petit hôtel soigné, chaleureux, très bon petit déjeuner, chambre impeccable, lits confortables.
Manque juste une piscine... et une réparation du plafond du bain, endommagé par l'humidité, mais pas (encore) de moisissures.
Expérience à refaire, merci!"
Algonquin Resort St Andrews by-the-Sea Autograph Collection
8/10 Good
"The service at Algonquin is as good as it gets…excellent. The room with a king was small compared with for example the Delta in St John. The restaurant was “satisfactory” but somewhat disappointing given this higher end venue. We expected something like what was comparable to the experience a few nights ago at the Rossmount Inn restaurant. The wine list at Algonquin is relatively limited and disappointing to our party of 4. The hotel could use the advice of at least a part time sommelier. Beef-based entrees were fine and well prepared. The asparagus side dish was inedible for the toughness of the spears. Thankfully there was no charge for that. Service otherwise was attentive and fine."
"Old building but really neat and historical looking. We got a single room, which had a double bed and a small couch. The bathroom is small. No way two people could get ready at one time. It has a really cool bar/restaurant which is super convenient; however, the World Cup was going on, so the bar was packed and SO LOUD! We were on the first floor, right above the bar, and you could hear everything. They also had live music (one guy with a guitar), which was also pretty loud. Thankfully, both things got over relatively early. Speaking of loud, the window fan is very noisy, and we only had it set on 2 out of 10. Overall, I would recommend it for the location and the on-site bar/restaurant, which also has a great patio. It has on-site parking, which was great. I really loved the way the building is set up with the bar/restaurant/patio. I might request a room on a higher floor, just because of the noise."
"Our recent two night stay at the Kingsbrae Arms Inn was exceptional. Room was great with an absolutely stunning view. Staff were outstanding. When we arrived, the host that checked us in was extremely outgoing and friendly. Once she explained everything and left, I called to ask if they had a corkscrew for our wine as we forgot to bring one. She returned to the premises from her way home and brought it to the room. Amazing customer service.
The breakfast(s), definitely surpassed expectations and the ladies, one waiting on us as well as the chef were top notch. Food was the best and the ladies were wonderful. Prompt, delightful, informative and sincere.
Huge Thank You to the staff.
We will definitely return"
