Eclectic style common areas with curiosities and a wide range of artworks; a bohemian vibe in the lounge and common dining areas whereas the bedrooms themselves were stylish modern and sleek. The is a charm to the property and the dining experience. The dogs and cat were a plus for our animal loving family. We initially reserved for 2 nights but had a change in flights and could only stay one night. While we knew it was non-refundable, there was no communication from the staff despite our messaging them ahead of time.

Such a beautiful hotel out in the countryside. The dinner was fantastic, the hot tub was one of the best I have been in. Very quiet, very quaint. Would recommend to everyone looking to stay out of the main villages!

The hotel have an unique decorations however was lack of service. If you don't buy the dinner you can't use the room because is for the guest who buy the dinner. We already dinner before check in and ask for coffee and hot chocolate and the staff tell us they can't sale us coffee or hot chocolate. The room need an renovation also the hall floor cracking like crazy and you feel like was inside your room. The breakfast offer is really limited. I think they can do it better.

I just checked out of Bru Country Estate and I’m sad to be leaving after just one night. This place is wonderful. The property is tucked away on a nice piece of land with beautiful views. When I approached the building to check in, I was greeted by three friendly and adorable dogs— just what I needed to bring a smile to my face after a day of driving. Upon entering the main house, I immediately felt at home. Ro checked me in and was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance in here is so warm and cozy. The decor is eclectic, the candlelight soothing, the temperature warm (lovely coming in from the Icelandic wind), and the music relaxing. I enjoyed reading and journaling in the main common spaces with a glass of wine, occasionally tossing a toy duck for one of these cute dogs. I also took advantage of the homemade dinner buffet, which was the best meal I’d had in a long time—absolutely delicious. The mushroom soup and cod casserole were my favorites— credits to the chef! My cabin for the evening was a basic one and a bit chilly for my tastes (to be fair, I get cold easily so it was probably fine for normal people). I slept so great, though, that I slept straight through breakfast! I was still able to get coffee though, and that’s the most important part:) Staying here has been my favorite part of my trip and I’ll be staying here again if I return to Iceland. Thank you, Bru Country Estate, for such a peaceful and relaxing stay!

I was looking forward to our stay at the Bru Country Estate with great anticipation based on reviews of the hotel. Unfortunately, during our stay, it did not live up to its reviews. The facility was not full when we stayed and yet they gave us a room at the far end of the hall by the noise-making water heater for the hot tub. This heater, apparently, did not provide hot water to our room as our water was ice cold in the shower. After running it for quite a while, we inquired at the desk. They did some adjustment, but the shower was only tepid, which was definitely cold for me. We were told bluntly that “it is what it is,” which is terrible customer service. Strangely the sink had hot water, following the adjustment. Also, at the end of the hall, the Wifi was useless, going in and out constantly. The room was basic at best with a very small bathroom. A new mattress and basic renovation would be beneficial. There was a handicapped shower bench sticking out from under the sink, which was annoying but handy, because the glass shelf at the bottom of our mirror hung at a 30 degree angle, rendering it useless. Our view out the large windows of our room was onto two ugly, large trash heaps. I understand that the heaps may belong to another property, but really, Bru? On a positive note, the included breakfast and the optional dinner buffet were nice. Der Duschboden im externen Haus verdient eine Renovierung, da das Wasser sich im gesamten Badezimmer verbreitet und der Kunde es in den Ablauf schieben muss. Zu Service und Sauberkeit: die Hunde von Gästen (nicht vom Besitzer) schnupperten ungehindert an den Buffets und erschreckten manche Gäste.

The host who greeted us and cooked dinner was so lovely and hospitable. We only took dinner the one night (but wish we had done both) because it was incredible and delicious! The rooms were also very comfortable and the lounge area and restaurant were spacious and charming. What a gem! We'd love to stay again one day
