Great hotel at the heart of Semarang

Great stay, great service from all staff, polite & friendly. Breakfast & dinner at hotel restaurant is tasty and with many variety to choose from.

Mixed feedback on the Po

The Po hotel is great, in an amazing location above the mall. The staff are lovely and the hotel itself is really nice. Beds are so, so comfy. But …. The towels are old and threadbare, and the AC doesn’t get the room cold. I turned it to 16C and full fan, but the room was still like a furnace. The corridors and public areas were lovely and cool, but rooms were so hot. This could be an amazing hotel, just needs these two minor things fixed

We have stayed at the Po hotel a few times before. Its location is excellent and all the staff are lovely. It’s the same problems as last time: it’s just a bit run down these days. The shower head wall holder was broken, the shower head itself squirted most of the water out the side, and the towels were still pretty old and threadbare. Some new towels and some minor renovation (new shower heads which cost pennies) would transform the hotel back to its former glory. If the management do read this review, please do try and get this little things fixed. The last issue is that the fire detectors flash a bright green light every few seconds. Fine in the daytime to check they are working but at night it’s like a strobe light right in your face. I am sure these don’t need to be like this. A couple of small issues that actually mean the stay is disappointing. Hopefully these will be rectified before we come back again next year. 🙏🙏

Should not call itself a 5 star property. Some staff tried to be helpful, but if AC is barely functioning, bed sheets have stains and the fridge don’t work may as well be camping. I’ve stayed at much better for much less.

The hotel is OK but showing its age. The first two days had problems with the hot water. The TV channel lineup is disappointing for a quality hotel. I found that the buffet breakfast was mediocre. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and no complaints there.

Poor room conditions and staff were not trained for a 5-star hotel. The hotel refused to accommodate a date change while the hotel was almost empty ! Staff were not properly trained to treat customers professionally, and many struggled to speak basic English. Gym was in bad condition. Broken equipments, damaged floors and leaking roofs The experience was like a 3.5-star hotel.

Large, clean hotel in a good location. On-site food options are absolutely terrible. The Gris restaurant is honestly the worst restaurant I have been to in Semarang by a long shot. The Christmas meal special was simply an absolute mess. All meats served by the barbecue chef were undercooked (chicken pink inside), the beef wellington was cold and soggy, and the buffet selection was truly pathetic. For a five-star hotel, I and my guest expected better.

Overrated, would not recommend it to friends

We booked 3 rooms for 4 guests. Hotel seemed more to be of a borderline 4 star, definitely not 5 stars. Wallpaper was tearing off in one of the rooms. In the other room, the bedsheet had blood stains on it. Additionally, there was an unbearable smell in the room, and the A/C was broken. It was also hard to sleep as the room was not very sound proof. We could hear cars and motorcycles from the rooms. We checked in around 9pm and had to wait until 4am before they were willing to give us a new room. Definitely will not be going back!

Das Hotel ist schwer in die Jahre gekommen. Man merkt dass sich keiner verantwortlich fühlt. Mobiliar aus Anfangszeiten. Dusche hat schon lange keiner kontrolliert. Keine Türe dicht. Ja es wurde nur weiterverkauft, Name in PO geändert- that’s it.
