"Mercure Seminyak was extremely disappointing and far below the standard expected of a hotel of this level. On arrival, my room was not ready and I was told it would only be a short wait, but I ended up waiting over an hour. When I was finally shown the room, staff were still working inside it, including painting, plastering, vacuuming, and removing items from the fridge, which made it clear the room was nowhere near ready for guests. When I eventually entered the room, it still smelled strongly of paint and had not been properly cleaned. There was dust throughout the room, including sawdust and sand dust, and the bathroom was left in an unacceptable state. The door was jammed and would not close securely, which made the room feel unsafe. The shower also did not work, leaving me without proper facilities. These issues triggered my asthma and made me feel unwell, stressed, and exhausted. Communication with staff was poor throughout, and although I reported the problems several times, they were not resolved promptly. I was also incorrectly charged for items that were supposed to be complimentary. Overall, this stay was frustrating, uncomfortable, and unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience"
