The old Conoco gas station was a great place to see, very nice. There is another vintage gas station in town which was interesting to see and a museum next door that looked nice from the outside, but sadly we arrived too late for the museum.

I've not found much on this stretch of I-40, but Shamrock is good place to stay the night. The main drag is a truck route, so if you want quiet, get a room away from the road.

Check in was easy and the room, two bedroom, was very spacious! It had a western theme to it, which we loved and overall was totally worth it.
