Short stay

Had a lovely short stay here. Hotel was very comfortable and fully equipped and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Garden and heated pool were amazing. Terrific breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel

Lovely couple running the hotel, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast cooked to order. Our second stay at this hotel and hope to return again soon. Close to the Chine and the village.

A gem of a hotel

Very comfortable hotel and very friendly hosts. Our room was spacious and very clean with everything we needed. We could leave the car at the hotel and walk to the sea and restaurants.

Lovely hotel in shanklin, the host des and Lyn were amazing, would definitely recommend this hotel. Will be going back next year.

Great little find!

It was a lovely place to stay. A Victorian villa which still has many original features, including beautiful stained glass windows. The room was clean and tidy and the hosts were most hospitable. There were some lovely touches, such as complimentary drinks and snacks. It was lovely to sit out on the front veranda with a coffee. The rear garden was well tended and the large swimming pool was fantastic. The only improvements i could suggest are a shower instead of the bath in Room 3 and a washing line in the garden to dry wet swimming kit, but these weren't issues. We had a warm welcome and the breakfasts were exceptional.

Room 20

Room 20 has a fabulous view of the Church and you can walk straight out onto the veranda to enjoy the morning sun 😎 Linda and Des went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcome, giving lots of useful tips on Restaurants and places to visit 💞 The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the food was divine, highly recommend and can’t wait to return 😎

Amazing stay!!

Had an amazing stay! Des and Linda are so nice and welcoming. Breakfast is unreal, loved everything we had on the menu! The location of the hotel to everything is perfect, it’s situated within walking distance of the beach front and old town. Would definitely recommend!!

EXCELLENT

Excellent all round. Linda & Des couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Breakfasts surpassed our expectations. Little extras in the room a lovely touch. All very clean, plenty of storage space and really comfortable bed. We were sorry to leave after our four night stay but we have booked for 2020!

First impression on arrival was that the property was in need of a tidy up and sprucing up. Broken step on one side was under repair with a cone placed on it. Inside was dark and unwelcoming. Initially no one at reception but owner came downstairs having just seen guests to room.

A MUST !!

Linda & Des made us feel very welcome during our 3 night weekend stay. Breakfast was excellent with such a wide variety of choice with cooked or buffet. Room was very spacious with a wonderful view of the sea which was also only a 5 minute walk to get to with a wide choice of bars & restaurants, The Village Inn and The Steamer serve lovely food. The Belmont also has a lovely bar where all drinks are very reasonably priced, a lovely place to finish off your evening with a few nightcaps and a good chat with other guests and of course Linda & Des. Lovely outside pool area, everything you need here. Will definitely be staying here again. Des.....you should have had your Porsche in this picture!!

A lovely hotel full of character

Comfortable and friendly hotel, in a great location. The building is full of character with some lovely architectural features - loved the floor to ceiling doors in our room. Great breakfast selection (I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict) served by friendly and attentive owners. Good parking, and only a few minutes walk to the town centre, the old village, and the clifftop.

We enjoyed our stay- the hotel was clean and the owners were very pleasant. We booked on the understanding from advertising that it was a hotel and restaurant but were disappointed to be told on arrival that the restaurant was not viable and no longer operated. The breakfast was very good - no complaint about that - but whereas we were expecting leisurely evenings in having a nice meal and a drink we were obliged to drive out to find somewhere to eat! The hotel is still referred to as “ hotel and restaurant “ in leaflets in the reception area and on other advertising.
