"We stayed in a room that had a silver spring onsen in the room. It had a kitchen in it as well and the pictures don't do it justice. It is huge with everything you need. The coffee maker is Espresso. They refill the capsules on request but if you have favorite capsules, bring some to enjoy. From our first contact with hotel personnel, we had an excellent experience. Very friendly, hospitable staff. We also used the hotel onsens on both the first floor and the fourth floor. All were impeccable and both the gold and silver onsens were very soothing. The onsen in the room is basically for one person at a time but plenty big enough for one person with a nice headrest designed into the marble spa tub. The hotel van is always available within a few minutes and the drivers are happy to take you anywhere in the Arima area. I recommend the ropeway. It is a BEAUTIFUL journey over the forested mountain. Not to be missed. Another bonus is the coffee/tea/juice bar in the lobb that also has delicious hot cocoa - and on the end of the bar is a freezer with small ice cream bon bons. Yum. Great place to go in the evening. It may seem that the hotel breakfast is expensive given most prices in Japan - but the breakfast is almost more than you can eat and is in the gourmet class. Definitely worth the money. Super tasty and very filling. Each person receives two large trays of various Japanese breakfast dishes. This hotel is smaller than most in the Arima area - more quiet and private."

"What a great place... Everything was great! As a ryokan, the room was Japanese style, no shoes. The staff was not very conversant in English...enough to get by... and it could NOT have been better. The onsens were fantastic, eating in our yakatas a true experience. At dinner, the staff knew about our allergies and dislikes. The unbelievably wonderful waitress from Vietnam (I foolishly didn't get her name.) assured us at the beginning of our multi course meal that she and they would take care of us and that we had nothing to worry about. I LOVE THE GRAND HOTEL!"

"I like the free public bath on 12/F a lot. First of all it is open throughout the night, for a night owl who like to walk around the city until late, I can go enjoy the public bath at 1am or 4am is great. I can check whether the public bath is crowded or not on the tv in my room so convenient ! Laundry machine is free ! Dryer costs ¥100 for 20mins. Free popsicles after public bath, free soba noodle every evening, free bottle of water in my fridge. Will definitely stay here again !"

"Lovely hotel and really Friendly staff, close to the train station and almost on top of the castle and grounds. Rooms were spacious and very clean with all the amenities you could want. Very close the shops, bars, restaurants and sight seeing spots. Well worth considering if your going to Himeji."
