The hotel is ideal to use as a base for Kumano Kodo trail as it is has regular buses to all the tourist areas. The hotel is quite basic but this is a small town. I would encourage all to try the local restaurants which look like they may or may not be open but be brave and you will eat some amazing food. The Tourist Info Centre is excellent and very helpful - with english speaking offering.

Hotel New Palace is a real gem in Shingu

I am so happy I found Hotel New Palace. The rooms are clean and large, staff is gracious, breakfast is really good. The onsen is a bonus. So nice for a relaxing soak every evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future if I return to Shingu.

A big cockroach was crawling on the bed when I lifted the comforter. Luckily, my husband was with me and killed the pest. I informed the front desk, but besides some insincere apologies, nothing was done. I had to ask the receptionist to come to the room to remove the pest and change the bed linens. I was glad it was just a one-night stay. I will never return, even if it were a free stay—no way.

Nice big, new, clean room. Amazing breakfast buffet. Convenient walk to the station, castle ruins, and Taisha. A little confusing at first because you enter on the ground floor by the parking garage, but the check in lobby is on the third floor. Just go up and have a nice stay.

This hotel is a great value for the money if you decide to stay in Shingu. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It is Japanese business hotel so it runs efficiently and smoothly. The area is not aesthetically pleasing but it has all you need in regards to restaurants and shops to pick up stuff. Highly recommended.

前台人員服務態度不禮貌， 我持一張訂單，訂兩個房間， 前台人員竟分給我們不同樓層的房間，請他調整，竟然不允，怪我兩個方間的姓名不是同一個人。 怎麼會這樣處理呢？ 我跟他說這樣的話我們聯繫不便，請他調整到同一樓層，他就用翻譯機說我是「不良的旅客」！ 前台服務給了鑰匙和朝食券而已，對備品/設施/環境 完全沒有介紹！ 要問才告知，且是問一答一，非常不親切，去日本旅行30年，第一次經歷過的如此不善的日本服務人員。 我無奈的進入房間，房間大而無當：塞了3張大床，桌椅陳設老舊/笨重，即使要挪張椅子都十分費力！ 洗衣房煙味重，洗衣機的費用比任何旅社都貴！ 總之：我再也不會訂這一間旅社了。

綺麗に清掃されており気持ちよく過ごせました。 フロントの男性の方やレストランの方が優しく対応してくれました。 特に朝ごはんの種類が豊富で野菜もシャキシャキしていて美味しかったです。 マッサージチェアが無料で使え旅の疲れがだいぶ癒されました。 機会があればぜひまた泊まりたいです。

コーヒーがないのはちょっと残念

部屋の広さ、明るさは2人での宿泊には十分快適でした。ただドリンクは粉末の日本茶しかなく、コーヒーや紅茶が飲みたい方は要注意です。
