"This was a strange one. Last year, we stayed at the Art Hotel in Aomori which was brand new. The Art Hotel in Hirosaki is a short walk from Hirosaki station and seems to be an older hotel that has undergone renovation when taken over by Art Hotels. The room was a bit cramped, albeit that there were three of us and that they had to add a portable bed to the room, but the strange thing was the bathroom. It was the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel in Japan with two sinks and a large shower/bathtub stall. They had a nice breakfast buffet at a reasonable price with local specialties, i.e. apples since it's Aomori prefecture, which is good because there's not much going on in Hirosaki around the train station. But there is a Gusto family restaurant we went to about a five minute walk from the hotel.
Now I want to say something about the staff working there. In a rush to catch a train, I forgot my cane at the front desk and was already on the train when I realized that. My wife called the staff and explained and they packed it up nicely and overnighted to our next hotel. Yes, we had to pay for the shipping, but I appreciate the diligence of the staff in returning it to me."
