"The room was equipped with all little necessities the traveller might need- hairbrush, toothbrush toothpaste slippers and more. The hotel is centrally located in the mid of the liveliest Kyoto area on top of Takase canal lined with beautiful Sakura trees. The Blue bottle cafe downstairs has the best coffee and the Master’s Dream house restaurant has the best beer. Walking distance to Maruyama park and Kyoto Takashimaya shopping mall. Amazing stay!"

"We stayed here during our Japan trip and, unfortunately, this was our least favourite hotel of the stay despite being one of the most expensive per night. The location is excellent, and the staff were professional, helpful, and pleasant throughout, which we appreciated. However, the room was very small, the smallest of all the hotels we stayed in, and the bed setup was particularly disappointing, with one side pushed against the wall. It felt cramped and uncomfortable for two adults. The room and bathroom also felt quite dated, and the air conditioning did not seem to work properly, so we ended up needing to keep the window open. Another downside was the laundry situation. There were only two washer-dryers available, which led to queues, and we were ultimately unable to do our laundry. Overall, the hotel has a great location and good staff, but for the price, the room comfort and facilities did not meet expectations, so we would not choose to stay here again."

"OK, the room is small, so family of 3, very challenging navigate around the room, but most hotel rooms are small in Japan, so not complain about it, but wish a bit bigger room would be nice. Other than, everything was very nice, exceptional location, and hotel staff very nice and attentive, located in quite street, and tons of restaurants close by (but be warn that they are a bit pricy and some even overpriced), and having breakfast in hotel is a big plus, good variety of breakfast options, of course, you are ok to eat fish appetizers in the morning, you are in luck. I can easily recommend this hotel!"

"Hotel is in a great central location! Close by to Pontocho, Gion and train station. The canal next to the hotel was so beautiful with cherry blossoms and willow trees. Comfy beds and cozy rooms. The breakfast buffet was good also. Note that the hotel's restaurant closes by 3 pm. Would definitely recommend this hotel!"

"This is a very special hotel. It’s walking distance to Heian shrine. Lots of good hiking spots near by. The food selection is a little sparse, but there are some good spots near by. The room was very large and we got a view of a cherry tree from our room. Joshua from the staff was very nice and set us up for a great trip."

"A very good hotel, ideally located in central Kyoto, just steps from the river, Nishiki Market, and a covered shopping street. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed and pillows are firm, but I personally slept very well. My only critic is the laundry room, which is much too small for the size of the hotel. I had difficulty accessing a dryer before hours and had to hang my clothes in the room without having access to a drying racks."
