"What a fabulous home! It was spotlessly clean and every amenity was thoughtfully available: a fully stocked kitchen making meal prep and cooking a breeze; ample blankets for the chilly nights; firewood for the fireplace and wood stove; and a great supply of towels. Alex's home has been beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely antiques and deep couches make it interesting and very cozy. We really enjoyed dining in the glass house with a fire burning in the fireplace after a long day of leaf peeping. The glass house is perfect on a rainy day as well as a sunny day, and watching the full moon rise through the windows is pure magic.Alex is a very attentive and responsive host with great suggestions for things to do in the Rutland area. He listens to his guests and recommends activities based on their interests. His love for his home and the surrounding area captures his guests... we didn't want to leave!We enjoyed the gondola ride up Killington Mountain, hiking the Appalachian Trail over the suspension bridge over Clarendon Gorge, hiking the AT/LT to the Maine Junction in Giffords Woods, visiting Sugarbush Farm, walking through the quaint town of Woodstock, visiting Bingham Falls near Stowe, and completing the corn maze at Hathaway Farm. But what made this The Perfect Vacation was this beautiful home, the center point and highlight of our trip. On our last night, we saw the Milky Way and several shooting stars.I highly recommend staying here! Words fail!"

"The cabin is stunning. We went in the fall and found it so cozy. The two kayaks availble onsite were easily accessible and the lake was gorgeous and only 500 feet away. Lots of games and DVDs to watch as well as a cute little TV and cozy living room. We loved playing cards at the kitchen table.Sharon was also the best host we could’ve asked for. The doors auto-lock and we got stuck outside (entirely our fault), and she was extremely communicative and came quickly to let us back in. I couldn’t recommend a better, cozier cabin experience!"

"Eric,I will try to be patient but I have to say our experience was disappointing. We arrived after the stipulated arrival time. We had invited my sister and her family to visit us for dinner. We found the property to be a construction site with ladders all over, and multiple people on the roof, and a construction van and debris around the house. So, we unloaded and parked on the back side of the library across the street. Upon arrival, we found the dishwasher full of dirty dishes and the refrigerator had someone else's food in it. My wife asked if were were at the right house. I went to bed that night in a sweater and socks because I thought I was getting sick. It wasn't until I woke at 5am Saturday that I realized the house was cold. I searched around the house until I found a thermostat and realized the heat was turned off. There were no instructions with the house as to where the thermostat was or how to program it but I managed to turn on the heat. I later reset the thermostat to 60 degrees when we left but I would encourage you to provide written instructions to future guests on how to operate the heating system.Also, regarding your comment about our being the test guests for the new bathroom.. Unfortunately, the toilet in the first floor bathroom doesn't work and didn't work from the time we arrived. We tried a plunger. I recommend you contact a plumber. Also, the first floor bedroom doesn't have curtains, and two of the bedrooms don't have dressers or stands"
