"Tiny room, not able to open 2 suitcases. Arrogant staff, overpriced beach services. Sun beds was made available fron 07.00-13.30 at 30 EUR and from 13.30-19.00 for 50 EUR. I.e. Not possible to rent for a day. Very few sun beds so this stay ay a mediocre hotel became very expensive. We were scammed in the restaurant, paid by card 120 EUR, after pin code they claimed that transaction did no go through, even though I showed it on the Mastercard app. Ended in a conflict, and I had to pay also...

"First of all, Kostas our host was a gem. His English is limited but that’s part of traveling, right? The room was clean and ready on our arrival and the bathroom had clearly been updated very recently. It had all the basics needed. The view from our outdoor terrace was idyllic. "We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was lovely and had a comfortable bed and a great shower. Everything was very clean. We had our own seating area outside with a small pool to sit in, which was great to come back to after a long walk. Smaragdi is in Artemonas, away from the coast and right next to the main town of Apollonia. Both towns were lovely to have a wander through and there were enough restaurant nearby, although some were just opening up in May. You can walk to Apollonia in about 15 minutes. There is a lovely path through both towns and I would recommend using that as opposed to walking down the road, which we did the first time. There was a map of the area at the bus stop, showing a variety of short walks too. We choose a longer one that we found on Alltrails. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to everyone there for a great stay. Breakfast, which we had included, was fantastic and very substantial. Highly recommend."
