"We had bed and breakfast at Kellah Farm and wow was it worth what we paid. The owners made ys very welcome. The room was so cosy and spotlessly clean with a lovely view comfy bed and pillows, tea and coffe , lovely biscuits and a sweet dish. Everything you need in the bathroom and lovely big soft towels. The breakfast was amazing and tasted lovely. I couldnt find any fault at all with this b+b and would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you Kellah farm."

"Matfen Hall really is outstanding, my stay was faultless. All staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful- I was greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and my bags were taken up to my room whilst I checked in and relaxed in the Great Hall. Every nook and cranny of this hotel is gorgeous, beautifully crafted and fabulously furnished, including the room I was allocated. It was a generous size bedroom and dressing area with a huge bathroom, stunning views and light and airy in the daytime but warm and cozy at night. I ate in The Cloisters and The Keepers during my stay, both offering tasty treats and excellent service. I used the spa facilities and loved the comfy robe and slippers. The thermal suites were a welcome break from the wild weather and I nearly fell asleep on the lounge chairs it was so peaceful. I can not wait to come back again soon and explore the hotel further, and enjoy all it has to offer, when I have more free time!"

"We were walking the Reivers Way. We had a great welcome. The room was excellent, very spacious, clean and comfortable with a bath, just what was needed after a days walk. The restaurant food was excellent and good value. Unfortunately my wife said her hip was hurting. The following morning my wife hip was still hurting so we decided to discontinue our walk and to travel home. Unfortunately because of a road closure the bus from Wark to Hexham wasn’t running. The receptionist, contacted her father who very kindly gave us a lift to The station. For which I gave him some money which was to be donated to the hotels charity ‘Water aid’. A fantastic service by a great hotel. We will return again to continue our walk once my wife is feeling better."

The hotel itself is beautiful, everything is run so smoothly and professionally, the food was delicious. Basically, we didn't want to go home. A great choice for our silver wedding anniversary "

"From arrival we were really impressed with this place. The lady greeting us and showing us to our room, was lovely and made us feel welcome from the outset. I’m not sure if this lady is the owner, but she was always busy and appeared to show genuine concern that guests needs were being taken care of. Room was large and comfortable, with all amenities required. Attached bar/ restaurant was comfortable and served a range of well priced meals and drinks. We didn’t use it, but the outside dining area looked lovely."
