The problem with staying on a Sunday is that the restaurant is closed and there is nowhere, either at the hotel or locally to get food. Our room whilst decorated beautifully and complete with everything you could want including robes and slippers was high up with a sloped roof that my wife on two occasions nearly knocked herself out. However, you will not find better and more friendly staff...

"Our stay at the Novotel Hotel in Ghent, the Netherlands, 15-17 Oct 2025 was excellent. With the exception of a couple of people, overall, the hotel's staff was friendly and hospitable. The photos matched the room -- clean and roomy. The mirror in the bathroom was a foot higher above my head (5 foot 2 inches) and the lighting was not bright enough. A light in the entrance way was broken, and not fixed during our 2 day stay, even though a cleaning staff member knew and promised to have it...
